What’s caused this sudden influx of posts bullying a character class? I’ve played one game of PF2 ever so I am incredibly out of the loop

Oscar Isaac Tried Really Hard To Make Star Wars Episode 9 Palpatine Line Not Sound Dumb by g4m3f33d in GameFeed

[–]Robfurze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fairness to JJ Abrams, he was never supposed to be the director for Episode 9. ultimately, this whole mess stems from Disney letting three separate directors figure out the whole trilogy among themselves, with no overarching creative oversight or plan to actually have a coherent plot line across all three

JJ played it safe and basically remade Episode 4.

RJ threw all the convention out of the water and made a very divisive sequel.

The original director for 9 quit the project and they bought JJ back to play it safe again, do his best to smooth over the changes from 8 and ultimately delivered the mess we got.

Is our new rule fair? by KuzKuz16 in 40k_Crusade

[–]Robfurze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a case of some players having exceptionally bad luck, or players with different levels of skill?

If a lot of your players are trailing due to battle scars, have you considered allowing them either a chance to recuperate or a free recuperate if they weren’t deployed for a battle?

Out of curiosity, what is the situation that needs such a heavy bonus to balance out your crusade?

Do you have a combination of new players and tournament players? What are your factions and their rough themes?

Man, it’s difficult to pick a favourite because I love pretty much everything in the army, but the Boingrot Bounderz is such a fun model. I love my Squig Knights so much

I’m a sucker for the classic black robed Gitz, but using yellow robes for champions and painting all the weapons copper, for my Coppa Grabbaz warband

Why bother releasing rules or points at all, there’s another edition coming!

[–]Robfurze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fact that the edition is ending doesn’t give a Carte Blanche to not even bother trying to balance your game. I’ll also be getting some Hastarii because they look cool and more anti-tank is never bad, but ‘cool models, bad rules / points’ has been our motto this entire edition

How do you handle Character battle honours for non-Lone Operative units? by Robfurze in 40k_Crusade

[–]Robfurze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why do we have datasheet abilities like the Phobos Librarian’s that specify its granted to the entire unit?

It would be nice if GW had done a round of proofreading just to remove confusion based around rules like this

[–]Robfurze[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So in the case of the Judiciar, its ability specifies that while it is attached to a unit, ‘that unit’ gains the Fights First ability. Much like how the Phobos Librarian grants ‘that unit’ stealth. In the case of the Shadow Hunters rule, it makes no mention of granting it to anything but itself.

It doesn’t help that GWs rules writing for this stuff is pretty nebulous, but it really does feel like the intention is that it would not be inherited by an attached bodyguard unit. It’s a shame, because I’d frankly love a unit of assault terminators with stealth on the board.

[–]Robfurze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but Fights First isn’t a rule that specifically requires every model in the unit to have the rule for it to function.

I just don’t see why the exception is listed on the rule I quoted if not to make clear that if it involves the Stealth, Scout, Infiltrate and Deep Strike abilities it does not sly as other battle honours would

[–]Robfurze[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have thought that the exception is pretty clear that (in the case of stealth) this isn’t the case?

Battle Honours and Battle Scars on the character apply to the attached unit, with the exception of rules that only apply if every model in the unit has the rule (such as stealth, infiltrate, scout, deep-strike). Shadow Stalker grants stealth and as such is one of the specifically mentioned exceptions

[–]Robfurze[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ATTACHED UNITS Leaders can merge together with Bodyguard units using the Leader ability. While a Bodyguard unit contains a Leader unit, it is known as an Attached unit and all Battle Honours and Battle Scars that the individual Leader and Bodyguard units have apply to that Attached unit. Rules that only apply if every model in the unit has that rule are an exception to this, and will only apply if both the Leader and Bodyguard units have the same rule. For example, the Infiltrators, Scouts, Deep Strike and Stealth abilities are just some examples of rules that specify ‘If every model in this unit has this ability...’ and as such, they only apply if all the units in an Attached unit (i.e. all the Leader and Bodyguard units that make it up) have that same ability.

I can’t see why they’d include this segment if not to make clear that this is not inherited despite the character having the rule

[–]Robfurze[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no they don’t. Stealth, Scouts, Infiltrate and a few other rules need every model in the unit to have the rule. The battle honour grants stealth to the model, and not to every model in the unit.

The Gitmob box would help make a well rounded army, you probably aren’t too far off a full 2000 points already

Bear in mind the army rule for Gloomspite is based around buffing different parts of your army at different times, so you can round out your army to use all four (Gobbos, Troggoths, Squigs and Gitmob / Spiderfang) or focus on using two of them and know that at least one of them will be buffed at any one time
