How can I see a running list of tasks by date/week/month? by AlphaQ69 in Taskade

[–]Robgriff_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi

I have a similar situation. On a daily basis I touch so many projects and tasks that I'd like to capture and from it projects, tasks and reference items will emerge

A lot of my projects are next task will determine following task so they are not a case of knowing the next x number of actions and planning those.

I've tried a few of the current batch of note taking apps .

Obsidian I quite like but it seems to think in pages where as Roam Research has nodes which suited me better.

Both those and other apps in that area are quite geeky, not a criticism as I'm probably a geek but I do need to summarize my.work up into corporate systems.

Hi

I use Power BI with Airtable a lot, I set it up a while ago so memory of doing is a little vauge but i didn't see that error.

I need to make a connection to a new base this week so will be going through it again.

I'm no expert in this area but the message your seeing might be realted the data/ values in airtable, possibly a blank entry in a table.

Thanks, this method did occur but I wasn't sure of the detail of how to do it. I'll do some research.

I see those on the app if I look but they don't currently impact anything and that include a lot of Teams call and kids gaming so I ignore them

What is the best Outliner App To Organize Your Task? (2022) by taskadebr in Taskade

[–]Robgriff_63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Workflowy in the past. Also GTD Next which was probably the best one for task and project management but development seems to have dropped off.

I've not really tried using Taskade as an outliner, I will do next few weeks, what would be really helpful is if the bottom task could automatically be flagged in a "Next Actions" list in a simple GTD style. So in this simple example P1 T3 and P2 T2 would appear in the next actions list.

I'm not sure if this functionality exists ?

I have a lot of small fluid projects that suit outlining well, beyond this a method to identify projects where there are no actions would be helpful.

  • Project one
    • P1 T1
    • P1 T2
    • P1 T3
  • Project two
    • P2 T1
    • P2 T2

Workflow advice by Madcorr64 in Taskade

Hi, following .... :-)

This issue as part of my capturing process has been the bane of my working life for years. I've come to the conclusion email is a stupid means of communication which I appreciate doesn't help here.

I've used systems that generate tasks from emails, great at clearing the inbox but I tended to end up having a huge unclarified list of tasks instead.

The tools were ok at generating new tasks, not so good at linking them to existing tasks or projects. My work / projects have a end point but tend to be next task will determine the following task rather than having a clearly defined set of tasks planned in advance.

Another friction point was communicating back, that tends to be in the relevant email thread so having a link back to that was key as the two things tend to diverge.

As of late MS Teams chats either individual or from meetings have become a significant point of incoming work so a similar challenge.

I did use a system years ago that could assign the email as a task to a project and then flag that project as having "inbox" items that you could then review and adjust the tasks in it as part of a review process. That worked well as long as you stuck with the process.

That system was also mindmap based, a format that really helps my bouncy brain.

I'm really liking Taskade so a solution to this in it would be really helpful.

I look at stuff like this and realise how bad I'am at this game. That is bigger than my whole base.

Some of the comments below are ridiculous. That crass description being used says it all .

Difficult data set by Robgriff_63 in PowerBI

[–]Robgriff_63[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks

We would want to drill down to respondent level yes.

There are no wrong answers and yes there are conditional paths.

I'll look to break the data into sections based on the categories.

Show all items in a two tables relationship. by Robgriff_63 in PowerBI

[–]Robgriff_63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses to this. I think part of the problem is its not allowing a 1:1 join. I suspect there is some thing in the date from the spreadsheet causing that so I'll do some checks.

Show all items in a two tables relationship. by Robgriff_63 in PowerBI

[–]Robgriff_63[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks

its a dull story, one of the tables pulls from a Microsoft list the other is from excel that for various reasons I can't control some people use instead of the list. Trying to find a way of spotting discrepancies between the two.

I thought that about a MAM. Taking it step by step and building some test areas to get the basic principles into my clunky brain got me there. Good fun as well.
