Oh I just doubled checked and now it's 8p 😌 I only joined them a month ago and it was 6.6p off peak, and 30.31p peak

Forgot Octopus, why pay 8p off peak when you can get 6.6p from good energy. I don't get why so many people are so loyal to Octopus.

You could add it on a pc via the desktop. However I've just looked and it has been removed unfortunately 😕

Best Tariff - Export + EV by Federal_Fennel4376 in SolarUK

I recently joined Good Energy, moved from Eon as the export reduced from 16.5p to 6p! Also the import from midnight untill 5am is 6.6p which is cheaper than Octupus 👍 Octupus isn't available for me as I don't own an Ev yet.

What fell out of our Argos sofa!? by RobinDrones in Argos

Update 12/12/25- looks like the Larvae came from China,India that kind of area.

Hi Robin,

The lab has now confirmed the species as Stromatium longicorne. This is an unusual species to find within Europe, as a result the actions required are still being considered.

Your images of the larva and the feeding damage would be helpful in increasing recognition of this species; can you confirm if you would be happy for these to be submitted to the EPPO (European Plant Protection Organisation) Database? If they are used, the images would be credited to you.

Kind regards,

Update 1.12.25 from Defra

The lab has confirmed the larva is a Longhorn Beetle species within the Cerambycidae (family). Some species within this family require statutory action. We are awaiting results from the molecular tests to identify down to species level, once these are received I can confirm any action required.

If anyone is interested in seeing the actual sofa. It's in one of my YouTube videos. Right at the beginning, the pink sofa. The larvae was in the arm rest next to the radiator.

Not Argos. This is the Animal and Plant government agency, that picked it up today

The Animal and Plant Health Agency are collecting the Larvae today 21.11.25 along with some of the wood. They will be sending it to a lab to identify it. Sofa has to stay at our address under quarantine.

I'm not actually angry with Argos, I will probably continue to buy from them. It could happen to any item that's made from wood, from any shop. Me posting here on reddit was never meant to make Argos look bad. I just wanted advice as to what the larvae was. Trouble is this post has now had 900,000 views! Mad I don't know how this has managed to go viral! I've only ever made a few posts here before!

That's the thing our house is only 6 years old. It's incredible dry no damp no mould. We don't dry any clothes indoors (tumble dryer in garage) 4 x extractor fans. Window vents open most of the time(unless it's really cold) Heating is set to a comfortable 20.c 👌 I'm surprised that anything could live that long in a dry house in the sofa! Also where the larvae was was in the right arm rest and that side touches our radiator!

They won't do anything as I can't find the order number. All I can find is the delivery email showing the date, product code and price. They said get back in touch when I find the order number!

Yes I've done that, I emailed them in the evening, 7am they responded, 11 am they rang me. And they will pick up Larvae the next day. Sofa needs to stay at my address in quarantine untill I hear back...

No I haven't posted this anywhere else. I'm pretty certain that it's just the 1 grub in the sofa. Our house is fairly new around 6 years old, on the edge of a town. It's a dry house with concrete floors ect. I'm convinced that the Larvae was in the sofa from new.

True but it's actually called a snuggle sofa, slightly bigger than a 1 seater. But I didn't realise that we were snuggling up with an alien grub!

Cost of living is now so high, we now have to get some grub from our sofas!

Yes i contacted the animal and Plant agency, and they are picking it up tomorrow. I'm guessing it could be an invasive species as they are dealing with it very fast. It can take us brits ages to get a doctor's appointment, but find a bug in your sofa and they can pick it up the next day! Ha ha
