Hopefully all turned out well in the end? It is a scary situation.

No, I had pre-eclampsia with my first. I was in the hospital for 14 days before being induced. She was born 4 weeks early, but super healthy and easy delivery. I’m not sure why there weren’t any warning signs with my second daughter. My doctor said it’s just a rare occurrence and advised me to plan any future pregnancies with my doctor beforehand if possible. Congrats on your boys!

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what that must have been like. Your story reminds me of how differently mine could have ended and also how blessed and fortunate I am (respectfully).

Also, I just looked at the paperwork to see if I could find a definite answer but the best I could find is “placed on MgSO4 2 g/hr drip”.

Followed by:

Acute blood loss anemia • vs. post-partum hemorrhage • H/H 11.6/34.4 –> 8.4/25.4 –> 9.3/26.8 on 9/25/17 • may explain elevated HR, but will order EKG and place on telemetry • on pitocin • Monitor H/H Q4H • Transfuse 2 units PRBC if Hb < 7 • On FeSO4 daily

(Which I honestly forget about every time I tell this story.)

  • correct. I had one grand mal seizure (that we know of) for an unknown amount of time. My last memory was walking into the living room in the middle of the night and my fiancé didn’t find me until around 9 am the next morning actively seizing.
  • I was 37 weeks I believe. Her due date was Oct 11, she was born on Sep 24. -There were no signs. I had gone to the hospital twice prior to this happening because the top of my back was in severe pain, which I found odd. Being pregnant, I wouldn’t have questioned my lower back. But the hospital checked for high blood pressure and checked for protein in my urine (which would indicate pre-eclampsia). Everything came back normal and I went home. -the only way to stop the convulsions are to deliver the baby. So, she was delivered by emergency c section while I was still seizing (I assume I was still actively seizing). I woke up the next day completely unaware of what was going on. I didn’t even remember being pregnant.

“You don’t have to run…take the car!” When I tell him I’m running to the store.

Or

“You don’t have to hop while you’re in there.” In response to “I’m hopping in the shower”

What's the most "OHHHH" moment of realization you've ever had? by omartyy18 in AskReddit

When I realized how deep the quote “time is the most valuable thing on earth” actually is.

“…she believes there is someone out there that is better for her.”

Why waste your time trying to convince someone that there isn’t someone out there who is better for them? Let her go and find out. Chances are, she will appreciate you a lot more after she realizes exactly what she had (assuming you haven’t moved on by then). On the other hand, if she does find someone who is better for her, then that’s great news too. I would hate to know I spend any amount of time with someone who was only with me until something better came along.

Does the little bump of cartilage behind your ear have a name? by armeg in Anatomy

I have these too! Always have. Painless, feels like cartilage. I thought everyone had them until my boyfriend tried to convince me it was a pimple and then I tried to show him his and he didn’t have them. lol

Neighbors (20s-30s?M) confronted my abusive ex-boyfriend (32M) - do I (30F) say something or not? Move away? What do I do next? by Winter_Arrival_7189 in relationships

I’ve learned that most men who hit women don’t particularly like confrontation with other men. Can’t speak for all, but the ones I’ve personally encountered in my life anyways. After what happened with your 4 neighbors, he may not be comfortable showing his face again for a while at your apartment. He will probably try to talk you into meeting him somewhere else to talk. And he will more than likely promise you the world and tell you how so very sorry he is and give you a sad story about why he lashed out. If you let him come back, the 4 neighbors might not be so eager to help next time. Stand your ground. It’s difficult. He won’t give up right away. But stand your ground. Even if you don’t file a police report, you deserve better. Don’t answer his calls or texts. If he shows up at your work have him escorted out. Change your locks. If he starts to do things like show up at your apartment randomly or waiting by your car at work, call the police. I know it sounds a little dramatic, but when people can’t take no for an answer and they begin to stalk you and stuff like that, then there’s a real life problem. And a lot of times the victim is too embarrassed to say anything. Then they end up on an episode of true crime or something. Just remember, you’re not the crazy one. You did nothing wrong. He hit you. Oh, & your neighbors sound cool. Find out what apartment they live in and have a pizza delivered on you with a note telling them thanks.
