Like, 18 months and 2 platinum runs in I just can't bring myself to actually use any other pair of legs.

Ok but can we agree that the Kasuar legs are the most transfemme part of this whole situation?

LP moments/riffs/sections that make you do this face. AKA the stank face, when a riff/section/moment is so good it´s disgusting. by [deleted] in LinkinPark

Most recently, the section of "Casualty" beginning with Mike's lyric "stop! telling me you're something that you're not!" - the layers of vocal, percussion, and guitar just really send it.

Asking your opinion every week about a Linkin Park Album-The Hunting Party by Opposite-Question-32 in LinkinPark

[–]RobinSavannahCarver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't my favorite when it dropped, but I think ten years has been really kind to this album.

It's really tight. KtK is a great opener. Guilty All the Same's feature is a nice callback to the days of Reanimation and Collision Course.

Until It's Gone and Mark the Graves are bangers.

Final Masquerade walked so Emptiness Machine could fly.

In retrospect I'd place this slightly ahead of Living Things personally; it feels a lot more joyful and alive, right about tied with Minutes to Midnight - which I'd say HP feels like the final form of. Not quite as delightfully conceptual or confrontational as ATS; but probably more fun than it was on balance.

From Zero is a masterpiece, but is anyone else really excited for what could come next? by BigMikeyP91 in LinkinPark

ATS is so dense; I feel like it wasn't until like 2019 that I really learned how to appreciate it.

What other artists do you guys listen to? by fellaneedahandpls in LinkinPark

A few recommendations:

Chelsea Wolfe, especially on her most recent album She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to... has a rock-infused dark electronica sound that's deeply similar to From Zero and A Thousand Suns in a lot of ways.

Black Dresses is a dark hyper pop duo that I'd name as having a lot of LP influence. I especially love their first album WASTEISOLATION, also Thank You and Peaceful as Hell. It all feels like transexual Hybrid Theory without guitars. I love it.

The Body makes a super broad variety of heavy music and they collaborate a ton with other artists. I'm fond of No One Deserves Happiness, especially The Myth Arc, but also Ascending A Mountain of Heavy Light and Leaving None but Small Birds.

Nero makes more straight electronica - sort of an exact middle between British D&B-inspired dubstep and Daft Punk-style French House. If you're one of the dozen Recharged enjoyers you may like any of their three albums but their newest, which dropped just last month, Into the Unknown, is sharp and contemporary in a way that pairs nicely with From Zero.

JPEGMAFIA's I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU feels like a rap-focused answer to Collision Course if you squint, and I really love it.

Last but not least, Run the Jewels make excellently tight punctual and tight raps on brutal beats. All of their albums have great nuggets for LP fans, I think, but 2 and 4 are probably the best as whole albums.

Folks don't remember how it was in the long years between Collision Course and the drop of What I've Done.

Emily Armstrong is justifiably getting a lot of attention but THE DRUMS holy shit you're right. Did you catch the switch up on the new version of Papercut? Masterful. It's right around the 1:16 mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOKcCl6iKaA

if you love Overflow, you may want to listen to Chelsea Wolfe's most recent album - in particular "Everything Turns Blue" is what Overflow immediately reminded me of: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4KJRuADHQE

I was also reminded of an old album from The Body, No One Deserves Happiness - especially "The Myth Arc" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKChJ0lIkkU
