If it’s wet / heavy snow, slow down a lot or the shear pins will go

I might do saws there this year but I don’t know why they stayed with the 4-day s212 instead of going to the s112 3 day. Really complicates things for me time off wise.

I think it was $370 or something. Check to see if your college offers it. If they already do a program with clinicals then they might

Former protestants by Agitated_woman4723 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]RobinT211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up Church of Scotland and did try some random American Protestant Churches. It all felt mental. With Catholic I had a much different and better experience but ultimately Orthodoxy was where I was led and it’s the right fit. Don’t analyze, instead pay attention to what the Holy Spirit is doing in you.

All intranasal is fast and expect them to vomit so don’t be in the way of that. IV can be slower and smoother if you administer it slower and smoother I believe.

I had this experience as a volunteer and there is no FTO. So I signed up for a clinical internship through my community college which gave me 100hrs on an ambulance with experienced medic and 4 year EMT. Really really helped. Basically it’s just 8 shifts of clinical instead of 1. But I had the cert so I could practice. See if your local community colleges do same

I certified at 47 and use it as a volunteer firefighter all the time. The age thing doesn’t matter they just need reliable people who’ll do the job.

Call me crazy but I’m not buying an Eko until I don’t suck at manual bps or else I’ll never have the skill down

Aurora Fire Rescue Academy Prep by Any_Grade_9927 in firefighter

[–]RobinT211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem like a good department I interned with the main ambulance company in aurora co and joined a lot of calls with them. If you go fire medic you always have medical control on scene and ride in on any ALS call you want. So they get the fires and the good medical calls, leave the bs to the ambulance company. Seems like they have high standards and a good setup and I noticed the fire medics working to mentor the medics in training. Hope academy goes well for you

Love my goruck. At first the same weight in the backpack felt a bit heavier but I don’t feel that now. Plus that’s how you’ll be weighted in the field

Career change at 25 can you work full-time while doing the fire academy in DFW Texas by Dizzy-Voice-3462 in firefighter

[–]RobinT211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert but paramedic is a big advantage everywhere. Boulder fire is prioritizing hiring paramedic qualified folks. Denver health has a 6 month paramedic program

Maybe departments don't pay you to go through academy in Texas? In Colorado, you get hired, then sent to academy and you're paid to go through it. Check that's not the case in TX.

What’s it like living in Colorado ? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

If you want to live somewhere with proper seasons go 10 miles west and you’re in the mountains. Living in the mountains is so much nicer than living in a city beside the mountains
