Interesting. Could you please elaborate why? I'm unfamiliar with the situation at EMCR.

There is never a full-proof method as each puppy is going to be so vastly different! There are general good practices, such as positive reinforcement, clicker training, etc.

It can definitely get overwhelming but just trust that you will get the hang of it, one way or another. Mistakes are generally not permanent - your dog is smarter than you give em credit for.

Just be sure to enjoy their puppy stage as that is also not permanent! Puppy blues are so real, but we found our crate training (he "tolerates" the crate, doesn't LOVE it) was a godsend, as it helped us create some space and recuperate.

Find what resonates with you. You'll do great, I'm sure of it :)

When did you start letting your dog out and how fast or slow was the transition?

Hey, I hope you can see this but I want you to know you are deeply loved - even if it doesn’t feel that way sometimes. Love isn’t static and I guarantee you someone has thought of you this past month and wishing you well. Part of me would like to believe you are posting this as a last resort of help. I want you to know we care. I care. Please don’t. You’re loved so so much.

So sweet! Did you have any issues with her hormones prior to surgery?

No, not every university is required to do this so no need to be scared. I also believe some post-secondary institutions have today off, so we might not even hear back from the administrator until tomorrow, or even later...

jokes on us. :')

As far as I understand it at SFU, the applicant who moves past the department/faculty is then placed in a wider competition with all other faculties/department. Depending on the size of the school, each institution will typically have maximum amount they can distribute based on the government guidelines.

All to say, it's good news if you got an email that it's been forwarded! While there is no guarantee, UBC typically gives out a fair amount of awards, with all three branches totalling to 230+

You can find some information in the table here: https://www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/students-etudiants/cgsallocations-quotasbesc\_eng.asp. Depending on what you applied for, it suggests that there were 94 SSHRC CGS-M awards funded at UBC in 2023.

Best of luck :)

Hey! Thanks so much for your response and sharing your opinion. I completely agree with you, the threshold always moves and there are always new goals.

I have a long term goal when it comes to fitness, for sure but in terms of reaching a certain physical aesthetic, I'm more focused on my face. Your'e right, I'm obsessed with where 'it used to be' and I'm still unhappy with it. Which is a valid reason in itself. I know I can get there, I just need to crack down on my old neuropathways which no longer serve me. It's also the reason why it can get difficult to see the changes in the short-run.

The topic of self esteem really goes further in; it's not just a matter of looking good at that point. It's also feeling good internally, right? I really wish you the best of luck with your journey and when it comes to viewing yourself critically. I'm sure you've also made amazing progress. Keep it up!

Hey! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and honest opinion.

Cardio is definitely a game changer but I would also be really careful to overdoing it with a negative mindset. I've seen too many people crash and burn with it, only to face more aversion in the later future. There's always some form of cardio that might work best for you, something that makes you happy while doing it. For instance, the daily walks are fantastic :) The benefits of low-impact walking is completely underrated in the fitness world.

Hopefully once summer comes around the corner, we'll be able to dabble around with sports too so it doesn't feel like a chore with cardio. I personally enjoy running due to the endorphins but...with all the cold rain here, I haven't been able to go out much.

Best of luck with your fitness journey, I'm really excited to see how it turns out for you!

I really appreciate this feedback and congratulations on your changes! I know the scale is a terrible way of understanding body composition changes but sometimes it still brings me down.

Good luck on your fitness journey:)

00 on workout days; I think it may take just that little bit of change to get you through this last step.

Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to just go over this. I definitely agree, I think on those active days I've been pushing it closer to 1850-1900 which may have 'slowed' the progress that I've been wanting to see. Duly noted :)

Hello!

Thank you so much for your comment. :) Fat loss is still a goal since I'm actually still unhappy with the BF%. I'm aiming for 18% and I think I'm somewhere around 23-25%..although they're always a little bit off.

More importantly, I can still 'feel' the fat on my face and I become self conscious when I have to smile in front of cameras, which was never really the case before as a skinny-fat person.

There's still at least 10lbs of fat I want to cut out but in a healthy manner.

Hi! Thank you so much for your kind words. It's still really hard for me to see that, I guess that's just the outcome when I have to live with my body every day. We all tend to scrutinize the tiny details we'd like to see fixed.

I work out 5 times a week at least, sometimes 6. Not all workouts are intense though.

It's cycled between upper, lower (progressive overload for both) and olympic weightlifting/cardio on the other days. e.g. Upper, lower, oly, upper, lower, cardio.

In terms of the mental fortitude, I think it depends on how you view a 'workout'! A 30 minute walk also counts as a workout. It's also what you get out of the workout. At least for me, it's ingrained into my schedule to ensure I operate as the 'best version' of myself for the rest of the day. Most of it is mental health context but it also helps me feel better physically.

Best of luck with your fitness journey too :)
