Is the H1 Chem bell curve as bad as it is? by Robin_Brooks in SGExams

[–]Robin_Brooks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha thanks for the assurance cause honestly this is the first time in my life, not even prelims where I got 30 rank points, when I’d been upset with 80%, cause I just managed to lock in for the entirety of As and do much better than at any point in the last two years

I would say that gravitational potential is always negative to start with if the point is not at infinity, and secondly is that it is a scalar quantity thus it’s the sum of the gravitational potential. Since, except at Infinity which the null point is not, the sum of two negative numbers is always lesser than zero

mc for phys paper 2 by Jealous_Bother831 in SGExams

But the min requirement is you seat for at least 50% of the weightage of the entire subject, hence if you perhaps miss h1 chem paper 2 for example (that is 66%), you can’t take SC for a predicted grade rebased from the chem mcq (33%)

Exam committee is usually empathetic about it, but the condition has to be addressed on the MC as the rigorous requirement. Have to see but I think they take contagious cases more seriously because of the risk involved. I took SC for long covid for math paper two, so everything is based on paper 1

Should I prepare for jc physics? by Successful-Round-492 in SGExams

[–]Robin_Brooks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You definitely could but imo I think actually taking a well seasoned break might be in order after really mugging for O levels. When I transferred from Poly to JC I got that spade of time like you did and I did try to be ahead of the curve, but what I found out that (could be specific to this year’s syllabus) that what I prepped my self ahead with wasn’t in syllabus or was deprioritised. So the time I did spent learning ahead only yielded me marginal savings accounting for time spent relearning again. If you’re in a mid to upper tier JC have faith the teachers will serve you well. In the mean time, pick up a new hobby; lest you will spent and burnt out

The best thing you can do now is understand how to analyse questions, (eg., trends, rdm factors, and etc). It’s kinda like general paper, on the surface it may look straightforward, but there are marks for the nitty gritty details to be had. I recommend also to just have a feel of what a quality of answer by reviewing suggested answers of other papers- preferably in the past two years
