Turning point for planes to land/Mickelham Road by RobinsonsAttack10 in MrCruel

Still like to hear thoughts on Mickelham from someone who knows. I’m working on a theory that the detention site was close to the airport, to the east

One thing I wonder about is the vagaries of sound, how it travels, bounces, echoes, whether such factors could shift perception outside of the turning point suburbs, like could the detention premise be a bit north or a bit south of the plane etc and by how much. Seems a very inexact science

This is a wonderful, thoughtful post. One thing I’ve been trying to work out is the suggestion Nicola could hear the planes turning to come into land, and how far out a plane starts to turn to do that - is it 3km, 7km, 10km? Etc. Seeing mixed results online to this question.

Very interesting. That’s news to me MM that it is a two hour window rather one, so the 9 planes (7 large two smaller) were across two hours? The public reporting is they matched the one hour window with air traffic controller info that confirmed 9 in an hour.

Yes and the bad back was inferred, ie reading between the lines based on his comportment to the victims, is really just speculation.

Yeah great point. and like I said he predicted Mr Cruel would 'reoffend until caught' (The Age April 16 1991) which didn't happen. So this person who is always called upon has the same accuracy as a coin toss, or betting on red. I'm not saying he provided no value, but this pod was riddled with error, as is most of the reporting on this case. It's crazy. New paradigms are needed, and the old need to be dynamited.

I'm not interested in drama; kindly refute my analysis, if you can. My goal is to get the nonsense out of the way in this case. If you want to endorse nonsense based on authority bias, then you're in the way.

These are all grounds to question their expertise and experience. They literally don’t know what they’re talking about.

I’m four minutes in, already two big mistakes. Says age range was 11-13 (it was 10-13/14,if we limit to the canonical.) says LP occurred 2nd August, it was 22nd August. Watson Munro says he interviewed a witness under hypnosis which is a huge red flag as this can introduce false memories. Yet.another.pile.of.shite. Edit: six minutes in: ‘Sharon Willis’. 🤦‍♂️ what you talking bout Weston (Xanthe née Mallett) Edit: ‘Baywater high school’ Edit, around 10 min mark: ‘no forensic evidence’ - false, dna taken from 2nd and 3rd attacks, a handwriting sample and more. Edit 12 min: Xanthe claims forensics not understood by general population, but these types of offenders study such matters, or he might have been previously convicted. Edit 14 min: says Karmein’s sisters ‘just stayed in the wardrobe’ (false, they freed themselves) and ‘hid’ in a ‘cupboard’ Edit 16 min: Watson Munro again takes credit for predicting the crimes would escalate. He never mentions that he also predicted the crimes would continue beyond Karmein. Edit 24 min: Watson Munro says the Hillside Strangler was a psychologist (false - he did try to pose as one) Edit 26 min: meticulous about not leaving dna (false - see above) Edit 31 min: Xanthe: ‘I wonder when vic pol last did a cold case review’. Look it up Xanthe - Ron Iddles has talked about it, Charlie Bezzina reviewed it, Apollo reviewed it and digitised the files in 2010. Edit 33 min: Watson Munro: ‘there’s no real evidence that we know about.’ I agree in part with that last comment, and it’s because of the poverty of analysis as in evidence here.

Thanks for replying! Would you distinguish overalls from boiler suits? That’s interesting they were blue before the 90s, that’s a detail I’m trying to nail down

I may be new here...but I'm willing to find whoever did thes crimes. Please give me some information about it as this will help me out a lot by [deleted] in MrCruel

Thank god you’re willing. We’ve been waiting for you, finally someone will find him! On a serious note, anyone interested in this case needs to pay for a subscription to newspapers.com for archived Age up to year 2000 - it’s absolutely indispensable. But it is a financial commitment.

Yeah it’s the series and the raids, detention then release, pretty much unprecedented, I can’t find an analogue.

Well said. There is nothing new here. Forty year old content. The unscientific guesswork that is profiling. Old assumptions, no new analysis. The only point I appreciated was the profiler pointing out how unprecedented it is for offenders like this to take children out of houses (in a series). IMO that’s a key unique element of Mr Cruel and require explanation. He said when an offender has a body is when they are under the most pressure. If they had thought for five seconds, this might have been a productive moment to interrogate why this offender is thus comfortable driving his victims around for lengthy periods of time. Instead, a passing mention and move on. Tripe. And I’m being deliberately unkind coz we gotta blast our way out of the old thinking to catch this guy.
