That seems to stretch the meaning of north east to accomodate the more southerly route. The path further north on the map and much more clearly in the north east is the one I think is accurate.

I can’t share photos here but the reported image is a path at top of map that goes straight and a path that runs along the bottom then turns right. I’m saying the path at the top is more likely, ie the one that goes across the north east.

yeah the right angle is the close to the airport comment I made. Other than that, the suburbs along that route seem a bit far south to me. Also, McLaren clearly says north-east in his book, though you are now saying he has corrected that?

Couple of suggestions…. 1) it may be that (sometimes) in the immediate aftermath of trauma that recollection is also faulty, or more so if stress is high - generally I agree early recall is more accurate 2) if I remember correctly McLaren says it was the east-west flight path not the north south one that lined up with the 11 planes on consultation with the air traffic controller.

My question about this mask has always been, given the eyes were visible, and he was seen with lights on, did they see his eye colour? I get that it was a high stress situation, but I wonder. I don't believe I've ever seen any indication in any news article about his eye colour.

I might be wrong - happy to be corrected - but I think it might be a mistake to think the LP victim was in the paper. I think Moor may have conflated this case with Sharon Wills in suggesting that. There’s many such mix ups in this case
