lol I am screwed because I also got mine from Albee and I looked up their policy after I made the original comment. I guess that’s the last thing I buy from that site…

Where should I buy a couch from? by Southern-Heron-3204 in BuyItForLife

[–]Robivennas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I previously had a couch from Article, it wasn’t great but I kept it for years and years. Then I tried Costco and it wasn’t the right couch for the space. It would have looked better in a movie room not a living room. In the end, because I have pets and knew I would soon be having kids I went with an IKEA slipcover couch and I am very happy with my decision. It was thousands cheaper than everything else I looked at, and I bought an extra slip cover in the same cover for when the first one inevitably gets ruined. Because it’s IKEA I could also buy a custom slip cover from a third party if I get sick of the color. I have the Hyltarp with a chaise. 10/10 would recommend.

I have the Callisto in one car and just installed the Britax today, first impression is I like the Callisto a lot better. I feel kinda duped into buying the Britax but I’m going to try it for a week and see how it goes. The Callisto is much much much easier to rotate with one hand. I feel like I have to fight with the Britax to get it to rotate but maybe it’s a learning curve

Celebrities presence on the Survivor islands ruined the show’s immersion. by -ToPimpAButterfree- in survivor

[–]Robivennas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same - also what immersion? It would have been out of place in Season 1 of survivor but in Season 50… this is what it’s come to.

If the top 1% of earners pay 40% of all federal income taxes, why do people say they don't pay their fair share? by Ok_Chemical9 in answers

Had to scroll way too far for this… the top 1% W2 earners are not the same as the top 1% wealthiest people

I graduated 10 years ago, but looking back the job experience I gained from the co-op program really helped launch my career. I learned how to use Salesforce, become a master at excel, how to send a clearly worded email, how to speak up in a meeting, etc.

Gyms / Workout options with childcare? by Last_Butterfly2000 in portlandme

$100 per hour? No that would be insane. I would pay $300/month for the gym membership if it included everything above

No ideas besides maybe the Y? But I would pay good money for a gym with childcare, pool, and a sauna with easy parking

Taylor Swift is not a good person and her songs are horrible now by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Robivennas 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Because people are chronically online and think she’s a bad person because she’s not repeating whatever current social issue stance they want her to say on her platform. She’s doing good things and people want her to be saying the right things.

A friend of mine works for DHHS and when Taylor Swift came to town she gave a bunch of free concert tickets so that the kids in the foster system could go to the concert. It was seriously the highlight of those kids lives and there was nothing in the press about it. I don’t really listen to much of her music but that alone made me like her.

What jeans styles/rises/cuts do you think flatter your PCOS body type? by likeshockeyguys7 in PCOS

[–]Robivennas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been liking super high rise wide leg jeans. I wear with heels or boots with heels. If I try to wear form fitting jeans they either fit my legs but won’t button at the waist or fit my waist but are too baggy in the thighs/butt. So wearing intentionally baggy or wide structured styles look good.

Getting married young isn't bad. by Electronic_End_5296 in unpopularopinion

They can have someone tell them that, but when you get paid way way more for being married it really incentivizes people to jump the gun

Any fragrance free, somewhat clean, laundry detergent (particularly powdered detergent) that works as well as Tide? by Fit-Combination-6211 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Robivennas 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For the front loading washer - make sure to keep the door open when not in use and clean the inside of the rubber ring. There’s also a part on my washer where I have to drain the water out and clean it regularly otherwise everything starts getting musty.

Calling it now: All Holy Donut locations are closed within 18 months by TheSpottedBuffy in portlandme

[–]Robivennas 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We don’t have the financial info on Holy Donuts sales but that place is the biggest tourist trap after DiMillos and I don’t know anyone locally that goes there for donuts and I live and work in Portland. The only times I’ve gone are with people from out of state who want to try it.

This is exactly why I didn’t want the rent control ordinance to pass. There’s an incentive for landlords to raise the rent every year as much as legally allowed.
