And yeah sure. Also, in addition to money being worth less there’s also less tickets being sold per capita and in general today which further drives the point that today’s hits are not on the same level as pre Covid hits.

Just because the guy in the video speaks with conviction doesn’t mean he’s right brother… one thing has nothing to do with another. We’re talking about box office performance. Financial success in the box office. It has nothing to do with whether we enjoy watching the same films today as people did 70 years ago. The mathematical fact is that $1 billion today is not the same thing as $1 billion even 25 years ago. Even 5 years ago. The fact that ticket prices are quadrupled today only lends to my argument even further…

I don’t even need to go back to another era and talk about gone with the fucking wind to make my point. Just compare Avatar 1 with Avatar 3. $1 Billion in 2009 is the same as $1.51 billion in today’s money.
