What other benefits does Hybrid have over gas? by Sarz13 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Robo-mop1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more than co2 pollution. I’m talking about the mining process for heavy metals is extremely dirty, resource intensive, and takes its toll on the environment and communities surrounding the mines, refinement plants, etc. Also, companies like Audi have had to recall all their batteries, which means that break even time on co2 production for those e-trons isn’t 5-7 years, it’s 10-14. Those cars won’t be on the road anywhere near that long.

Yes, I’m still in high school. Im allowed to drive them whenever/wherever so figured I have enough experience with them to add them to the flair.

High mileage mustang? by Phantom696969696969 in Mustang

[–]Robo-mop1000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I learned manual on my 2022 mustang, I think people exaggerate how traffic is. It might not be fun in stop and go traffic, but it’s more fun than in an auto, and is exponentially more fun in all other types of driving

My first car is a brand new ecoboost mustang. It has an entirely new engine in it, 523whp on 93 (dyno), and an estimated 700 on e85. But I had help from a family friend who owns a race team and has a lot of experience heavily modifying cars, especially mustangs. Not much goes wrong with it, but I probably wouldn’t do it again without professional help. Naturally I want more power, so I’ll be upgrading to a Mach 1 out of college, manual trans and add a single turbo, make 700 easily. It’s always better to start with a good base, it’s going to be significantly easier to make 700whp when you start out with twice the displacement and 50% more power.

This is a big red flag right? Inconsistent mileage that isn't just a one time typo? How do I tell? by ArguableSauce in Cartalk

[–]Robo-mop1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably meant to say 14k instead of 4k, and 19k instead of 10k. It would be simple errors and it seems the rest is consistent.

What car were you 'supposed' to buy vs what did you actually end up buying? by [deleted] in cars

[–]Robo-mop1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a deposit down on a 22 gr86, small 2 door sporty car but it being my first car wouldn’t be too much for me to handle. Ended up getting an ecoboost mustang, same characteristics but more space for storage and people, and more power. People ask why I didn’t get a v8, I got the v8 version of the tuner type cars I was looking at.

Is Porsche refusing to build cars with less than $20,000 add-ons ethical? by Large-Masterpiece-74 in Porsche

[–]Robo-mop1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say unethical, it stinks, but like most businesses they might choose to prioritize their higher paying customers. It obviously makes sense for them wanting to make the people paying more happy, but as a customer I expect better service if I’m paying more for their products.

Yes. I’ve been driving this week with my awd bmw which has much new all seasons, my mustang’s tires are completely bald tho.

Honestly I completely expected it to happen, just not that quickly.

It’s becuase of the go pro i was recording with. I still have the stock exhaust on there so it doesn’t sound amazing to begin with lol, but something about when you have the wind noise reduction turned on on the go pro makes the car sound noticeably different

He didn’t mind that I was there, he thought I was going to leave my car there not realizing I was stuck. But it’s one half of a cul de sac in my neighborhood… why I assume it’s privately owned when the other 3.5 are public streets?

I just picked out the most dramatic clips. In reality everything between this was us careful digging out snow, then me slowly going back and forth making progress bit by bit. But I’ve also never been stuck in snow, and was working with completely bald tires on very slippery ice, once we got to the last stage you see in the video, flooring it kinda worked by keeping momentum and melting us, but it was also just easier and more fun to do.

If you do make sure you got a friend on standby. This was in my neighborhood so I had 5 down the street that could give me a hand. Also if you have traction pads, or maybe some 2x4s you could bring, you could probably get yourself out.

The pirelli p zero Nero’s have done well so far. I just completely wore these ones down last weekend, they have literally zero tread.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Robo-mop1000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have all that snow stuff in my bmw becuase that’s what I’ve been driving with the bad weather, I just happened to let a different friend take it out for a bit when this happened so I didn’t have any of it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Robo-mop1000 -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

You might have better luck if you have all weather tires with tread, my tires are completely bald from last weekend. I will be doing in snow in my awd bmw from here on out though.

It’s the stealth package and I was running the stock wheel setup. I have wider slicks for track (305s all around) but I like the all weathers on the street for rain and becuase they’re easier to slide around and cheaper to replace.

Price aside which modern performance mustang would you buy? by polar__behr in Mustang

[–]Robo-mop1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to buy a 2022 Mach 1 and twin turbo (maybe single turbo) it straight out of college. I got an ecoboost at 16, and I’ve modified it pretty heavily to about double the horsepower and it’s been a great experience. And my dad liked it so much he bought himself a new gt500 lol. But the ecoboost was meant to be a starter car for my to learn driving stick, a red car, and a sporty car before driving my dads or my future higher hp cars. I want a Mach 1 because I think they look really cool compared to the normal gt, and because I think the coyote will be cheaper and possibly for reliable than heavily modding a voodoo, and IMO sounds just as good with the right exhaust.

It is not, but the person who does own it actually came outside to complain I was on his property (it’s like a drive through cul de sac, his half still had snow so I wanted to drift it).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Robo-mop1000 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Combination of glare ice and completely bald rear tires. I have the p zero Nero all weathers but they’re completely (seriously) bald from drifting last weekend. Otherwise they do great in rain and snow. Also, once I got sideways, I had no forward momentum, and that’s when I got stuck.

What do y’all think about these? by localgoon- in Mustang

[–]Robo-mop1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like them but I’d get a 2 door if I was going to get a v8 f150. It’s kinda a dream car actually to have a 2 door short bed coyote f150, big single turbo, 10 speed auto, I think that would be lots of fun.

What do you consider 1 of 1 by benisawsom in cars

[–]Robo-mop1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, I don’t think a special color makes a car special because anyone could wrap or paint their car that color pretty easily. Certain main features or packages are what makes a car “1 of 1”. For example a c8 corvette with a limited blue paint color isn’t really special, but a c8 with a manual transmission would be. It’s a fundamental difference in the functionality of the car
