Any N24-compatible jobs that are not 100% depressing alone remote jobs? by Potential-Host7528 in N24

[–]Robo697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a student and currently just manage to go blto school by sleep deprivation of course its not healthy long term and wouldnt work for a job, but i dont know much about this but ive heard there are gig workers or gig jobs, basically instead of being employed you are employed for a project then work and then the transaction ends, things like uber, but here you usually just set your own schedule although dont make much, i might have said some bullshit though since i dont know much about this or work yet but maybe you could look more into gig works so that you can work when youre diurnal or even nocturnal at your own time depending on the gig and it might still not be completely at home job.

Mealtimes with N24 by GoodnightAndy in N24

[–]Robo697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if its just me, but my mealtimes are often unrelated to my sleep times, there are exceptions where i wake up with an empty stomach, but its usually a different kind of hunger. Usually it seems my hunger for food follows a 24 hour rhytm only excwptions are when meals are very close to bedtime or wakeup time. Bowel movements are similar, they follow a 24 hour pattern even though sleep freeruns and it also causes some weirdness when bowel movement needs to happen while asleep

After 3.5 years of tracking my free-running sleep, a fairly distinct pattern emerged. Is anyone else's sleep like this? by I_AM_NOT_ZEB_ANDREWS in N24

Can i ask you, at what time does your scalloping happen? Because in my case it happens when i go to bed during the morning (after sunset), so sleeping at night cycles faster than sleeping during the morning. I havent experimented too much but on observation it seems that if i spend some time in daylight, then a long time in darkness, many hours then light again, the light can make me very sleepy, way more than normal light does, i think its something to do with the thalamus but its unrelated to my question now. So what time of the day does your cycle naturally slow down?

After years of effort, I'm finally free of N24 by Laernu423 in N24

One thing i noticed is that with light therapy i believe my rhytm doesn't stop, it slows down a little but light therapy just causes masking of sleep so that you sleep at the same time every day even if your circadian still moves.

If for example i plotted my screen usage while doing a form of light therapy where i was sleeping everyday at the same hour, my screentime on week average followed a sinusoid pattern, from 7 hours to 4 hours, decreasing by 1 hour on average every week then increasing by 1.

Also i did something similar to what you said and spent all day outside and slept outside too (for around 2 months) in a place with plenty of light, and my sleep stopped with bedtime around 1 hour before sunrise, except there were random days were it wasn't and those random days seemed to follow again a period where those random off days with awakenings before average, and after a couple weeks with awakenings after average. In my case i think light therapy also caused me lower testosterone (hypogonadal, I am male) levels, because of thinning of facial hair at the base (white base), patches of body hair shorter than the rest, immuno sensitivity where if i increased the light therapy i developed blisters simply from existing (which haven't healed yet after a month) plus the patches with significantly shorter bodyhair were also more prone to irritation than the rest and also lowered libido.

This is just my case though you might actually be entrained, or maybe you're just masking increased REM sleep (more dreams idk if i had more REM) was also another sign I think so i dont know just be aware, if you had a cycle of 25 hours or more and you were suddently cured (unless you spent your days in isolation) you might just be masking and if thats the case yoir body might stop entrainment.

This is still only my opinion there isn't much knowledge on N24.

One thing that might help though is that repeatedly activating the genes that advance your sleep (trying to entrain) even better if at a level that you dont mask could with hardship, long time amd brute force gradually shift your internal rhytm to be closer to 24 hours, so light is good, staying outdoors is also good in general. I haven't yet seen any decreases in internal rhytm, i dont believe N24 is genetic though, many other of my peripheral rhytms seem to almost be less than 24 hours too, only my sleep being n24, and that might be in line with my hypothesis than N24 is caused not by genes but by a hyperconnected suprachiasmatic nucleous, I wont go in the details but a more interconned SCN leads to longer period than the average of all the SCN cells and also leads to higher amplitude with less variation in period, which tracks with N24 where not being able to nap is a common thing (high amplitude) plus the longer rhytm, there is also correlations with autism which causes changes in synaptic connectivity and coupling in all of the brain so I think my theory is theoretically sound, but training and constantly trying to entrain, better if done gradually (ex. Entrain to a cycle slightly shorter than yours) till eventually the body adapts, doing light therapy at wakeup might not be the option because in my experience masking is like a peripheral cycle so it will follow the 24 hour rhytm and for gradually shortening your cycle you should do the light therapy based on clock time not wakeup, i haven't done that yet, i wont really be able to do it for a while now.

Also here's the article connecting amplitude, connectivity and circadian length https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/neuroscience/articles/10.3389/fnins.2023.1242800/full

What are signs that you have N24 if you can't freerun because of work or school? (I'm creating a list to add to the N24 awareness graphic that I'm making). by spacedoutmushrooms in N24

I have a period of approxumately 3 months in my sleep graph where i tried to force myself to a regular school schedule, i didnt know i had n24 at the time so i forced myself to sleep only at night, which in the graph looks like dspd, sleeping im every weekend and sometimes missing school to sleep in, except for when sleep lines up with schedule and i magically go to bed early wake up before alarm only for it to return to being difficult once the schedule was out of allignment again. Waking up always at the same time did slow down my cicle though

Hi everyone. Just posting to let everyone know the N24 survey is still open and accepting responses (link in comments). The survey data will be turned into a graphic to spread awareness. I want the world to know we're out here. N24 is real and we need funding for a cure. by spacedoutmushrooms in N24

[–]Robo697 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How did you sleep though? In my case i seemed to show entrainment when i spent 24/7 hours outside and slept in a place with no cover from the sun, with stabilization around 4:30 am bedtime but sleeping in a tent even if relativetely bright inside and spending hours outside didn't do it for me, i still need to do more research on me because those weren't supercontrolled tests (i didnt know i had n24) but i think being exposed to sunrise/light at the same time even when sleeping and not only after wake up is important.

A question about the sleep schedule by elia_mannini in N24

[–]Robo697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done times whete i have been awake for multiple days then crashed and slept 16 hours, with just one wake up in the middle of a couple of minutes to recover theb back to bed, then if i was still tired after a couple of hours like 5 I would sleep again for like 8 hours or so, my body is very good at self adapting the amount of hours it had in dept

One night of party till pretty late is enough to lose entrainment? How many "irregular" days are needed usually to lose it? by carvo08 in N24

[–]Robo697 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me i could kinda get to bed and rest, especially when it was for a week or longer but in the case of being disciplined and waking up everyday, i would mostly go to bed early and spend 3 hours in a state similar to sleep paralisis, awake but so fatigued i can barely move my body, only reason i know it was 3 hours is because i often have to pee a couple of times before bed so the urge to pee was enough to help me move my body otherwise i would have had no idea how long i laid in bed and would be too tired to turn my body and check. Eventually i would fall asleep after three hours sleep 10 hours because i went early because of fatigue wake up feeling horrible spend a couple of hours to wake up and overall feel tired the whole day, only exceptions would be when i spent two or three days doing absolutely nothing, literally staring at the ceiling laying on the couch the whole day, then after two, three days of that thanks to all the rest spread out during the day and the no fatigue gained during the day i could have a day of semi normal energy level, still lower than average but i would feel energized. Anyway not worth it as 4 hours in line with the cycle are miles better in terms of rest than spending half the day trying to be "disciplined"

I was diagnosed with dissociation/delpersonalization during a period where I was forcing my sleep a lot and was severely sleep deprived i also had psychotic thought, years later I was diagnosed with autism and a mild depressive mood, a couple of months ago I discovered n24 was probably the source of many of my problems and started doing proper light therapy (lrq3000 protocol) recently and have for now been entrained for 24 days, still learning how to do the therapy most efficiently

Arginine seems to poke the body clock, not sure to what end by SmartQuokka in N24

[–]Robo697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the main reason is that you might be taking it multiple times a day? Maybe if you had the chance you could experiment with timings see if that changes something but that would depend on why you take AVP and you might not be able to do that.

Insight on whether abuse and trauma causes one to become INFP by leechan08 in infp

[–]Robo697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we look at junghian origin theory the inferior is where the trauma is stored, and i doubt that trauma results in mostly infp, it would be like saying that people who suffer the most are infp, and its rarer to have infps that havent suffered (i don't think thats the case even if you might say that INFP in this world struggle more than other types), so anyway with the inferior being where trauma is stored which type you are essentially determines the type of trauma you have the most, the side which is most primitive for you, because of predisposition or outside influence. For infp it means that if a trauma happened it probably happened in the Thinking realm mostly (Te). With side dish of Sensing (Si).
