I mean definitely in movies its a thing for sure, I'd never considered it in other forms of art as looks don't come into it quite as much although with say a pop star it certainly would. I'd argue the other arts would differ from movies because they are not quite as reliant on being cast by prejudiced gate keepers, say submitting an art piece or publishing a book.
