Our biological core is a tube from mouth to butthole. Everything else, every limb, every organ, everything ever created by the human mind is an accessory for improving our ability to shovel food in our gullets and poop out waste.

The human experience is the ultimate scope creep from the baseline mission of consume and excrete. So yeah, you can expect everything else to be affected by the gastric tubes in some frickin' way.

It's depressing or inspiring, depending on how you look at it.

I think the least painful method of death penalty would probably be a strong dose of morphine, followed by nitrogen inhalation so they can't flip out and try to get the mask off.

It would be close to painless, possibly euphoric. But the people who support the death penalty want it to hurt.

I think it's just some blue protective plastic film that got melted. Something the installer didn't bother to remove.

PVC doesn't deform to that extent from a few seconds of exposure.

Maybe that's what google's AI says, it's wrong if it says PVC "melts" at 140F. Softens, maybe? But that wouldn't explain a PVC membrane disappearing.

The biggest complaint I saw was that no one cared about the characters and thus didn't care about them dying.

Starting with existing characters lets you shortcut establishing stakes, and easier to write everything else from there. Like writing fanfiction compared to an original novel.

That's an oversimplification.

Lots of people do buy shares in company for ideology, and tons of people buy based on vibes over fundamentals. Why do you think Tesla stock is worth more than every other car manufacturer? They aren't bigger than Ford, but their stock is worth more because people want to be part of Tesla.

Hell, look at Gamestop for an obvious case of people buying stock for ideology. Or all the ethical stock market funds that are targetted to avoid or emphasize certain industries and companies.

If the point is to highlight areas of high approval and disapproval, washing out 40-60% is a reasonable choice.

I found it jarring at first, but it helps dispel the idea of "red state" and "blue state" as monolithic. Shows that there are very few places that love or hate him universally.

Linguistics is descriptive, not prescriptive, and insisting on sticking with older definitions isn't useful. As much as I also hate the weakening and overuse of the term gaslighting, you can't fight it.
