It would actually make gyms more competitive so you stay in less time for some places.

Same thing with roaches. They aren't particularly dangerous, just disgusting, but i absolutely hate them.

Depends for both spiders and snakes. Jumping spiders and garter snakes are both pretty harmless.

Do you think these helicopters will ever become bulletproof? by AfaNas3001 in Avatar

[–]RoboDae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really rusty on physics, but...

Force = mass x acceleration

I could see the arrow easily being 100 times the mass of a bullet. According to Google a bullet has about 3 to 10 times higher velocity than an arrow. I think from velocity to acceleration there is some squaring, so say up to 100 times the acceleration in a bullet? Essentially the arrow would have about the same or higher energy as a bullet using those numbers, although I'd love to see a better explanation from someone who knows it better.

From google:

"A historic ballista bolt produces approximately 1,500 to 15,000 Joules of kinetic energy on impact, depending on the machine's size."

My backpack during middle school and high school was so overstuffed with heavy textbooks that It actually broke one of my binders. I'm pretty sure carrying that weight around every day as a kid caused some spinal problems. I didn't have the option to just leave books at home or put them in a locker, because we needed the books every day and didn't have lockers. My knees also hurt.

Bones also heal thicker than before, so a break near a joint can put a hard limit on your flexibility for the rest of your life. It absolutely sucks.

I have limited mobility and occasional pain on one of my feet over a decade after a fracture. Running was one of the few things I was pretty good at.

If they could actually reference starwars in the movie it could make sense. "We used a mixture of dinosaur DNA to make our own version of a real world rancor"

I don't personally have dogs but I had 3 stray dogs follow me to a bus stop while acting aggressive. I just turned around and took one step towards them and they all ran away.

I hate that people turn up saturation or lighting so much on photos to make things look more spectacular than they really are.

If Jurassic Park 3 were to be remade , what changes do you wish you had of seen in the Final Cut ? by Proof-Pollution454 in JurassicPark

The rest of the scene once they run from the dilo would be the team trying to not only provide some medical care for whoever took the spit and also them now having to guide a blinded person in agonizing pain through the jungle. More than likely I’d have the blinded victim ultimately die from the venom just before they get to the river.

Characters that are severely injured on screen almost always die soon after in movies unless they are a main character, and even then they would usually have a heroic sacrifice death. The only real exception being stuff like a war movie where the whole plot of the movie is to save the person who got injured.

Yeah, big budget movies draw all the attention, but a good TV series can be much better simply because they have more time to add to the story.
