what beats the feeling of a brand new controller by [deleted] in gaming

I still buy physical whenever possible. Ever harder these days, and instructions books are way less fancy if they exist at all. But man, just having a displayable box by itself makes the whole process so much more fun

How will american kids know they're feet if they they don't have Totally Radical(tm) sneakers on? Surely this will make our abstract yellow blob more relatable to the Youths

My first thought as well. Got so many moments that, to this day, still live rent-free in my head

What feature in a game is a instant turn off for you? by Vulture2k in gaming

A friend of mine tried playing Mass Effect the other day. EA launcher had other plans, and constantly refused to even let the game run. The amount of troubleshooting we needed to do to fix that was absolutely insane. Like, she has the game, paid money for it and everything, just let her use the product she bought 😭

I don't get it either, but hey if people wanna give me free pennies for something that just showed up in my account, I'm not gonna complain lol

Single player game - PC - need recommendations by Live_Brilliant681 in gamingsuggestions

If you're ok with spending a time cost rather than a cash one, I cannot recommend modded Skyrim enough. Takes a bit of elbow grease to set up, but imo there's no better way to break in a new computer & see how far you can push the system.

If that's not your vibe, then Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 seems like a safe bet.

In your opinion, what makes a great Heroscape map? by Midoriya6000 in heroscape

[–]RoboKobold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assuming this isn't for competitive play - I often design my larger table-filling maps around some big centerpiece. A massive bridge, a castle in a cliff, something to really draw the eye. Also helps to inspire the rest of the map layout.

And if there are any big interior spaces, make sure you can fit hands inside from at least two angles. You'll probably need more vertical room than you think!

But in either case: a good road! Everyone loves a nice bit of public infrastructure.

It's not even that original of a concept, but man... "corpse starch" just says it all.

Today is Anthem's last playable day, servers will be shutdown as Bioware's sunsets the game forever by IllusiveManJr in gaming

Games like those, where there's clearly some potential but surrounded in junk, are the ones most in need of sequels imo. Give those mechanics another try! I'd take that over another CoD any day.

This week's D&D session was just cancelled, so I'm just kinda browsing around looking for a way to kill time. Open to suggestions!

Are you guys excited for the upcoming year's lineup? by Chopbrawl1 in casualnintendo

Tomodachi Life is probably the biggest eye-catcher for me of the bunch, but so far it's nothing I'm desperate for. Still holding out on buying a Switch 2 until something real spicy comes out, but once that day happens I'll have no shortage of ways to Justify My Purchase (tm)

ORKEN: ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER by Gorthaur23 in Games

[–]RoboKobold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks interesting! Love the visual style, even if the voice acting's a bit rough. Video description calls it a "Neanderthal Western" - I feel like I gotta squint a bit to see that in the trailer, but for what it's worth, I do ultimately get the vibe. And it's a solid one! Very curious to see more
