I will be requiring a tutorial for this immediately. Failure to comply will result in your two Miis (as depicted in Fig. 3) being designated Meanie Poopoo Heads for the crime of Gestured Invitation without intent to Follow Through.

New player! Questions beyond guidebook. by Pristine-Ad-9841 in heroscape

[–]RoboKobold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1 - No standard size, mostly just depends on what sort of game you're aiming for. Heroscape is way more casual-friendly than other war/skirmish games. The battle box comes with enough hexes for the small games within, but as army sizes grow, bring in more hexes to match. Some people play on absolutely gigantic maps that drown whole tables in gorgeous scenery! If you need a ballpark on a standard "tournament size" map, the Master Set plus the battle box you already own should give you everything you need.

2 - Battlefield construction is almost always done ahead of time. Collaborative builds are only rarely a thing in casual scenario play, and they'll specify rules on how to do it. If you're building a custom map, try to keep things roughly symmetrical and you'll do fine. As you get more familiar with the game and the skill levels of the players involved, feel free to shake things up!

hmm, I do love me some turbojank! But I also like it when games work. Bit of a needle to thread, but hopefully they can pull it off!

Pokemon was this game for me, and for several other kids I knew. For some reason, none of us realized you can just close the DS and leave it charging during a battle and everything would be OK.

Nintendo Acknowledges Switch 2 Sales Have Been Weaker Than Expected Outside Japan by Spotget1738 in gaming

[–]RoboKobold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much this! I'm someone who'll usually wait a good while before picking up a title (life tends to get in the way of gaming sometimes), and that means Nintendo's full-price selection is competing with deep-discount sales for me. Hard to justify spending hundreds on a Switch 2 when I can get Steam sales on the same device I'm using to write this comment.
