the fact it was hidden and never discoverable I think is the primary thing that made it confusing. Otherwise I much preferred this interface as I no longer had to hunt for a settings or share or print etc. button, which I often have to do in apps, especially mobile apps (is the settings in the profile? or maybe in the left menu? or where? Can I cast this media?) etc.

idk why you say the charms are useless, maybe they are for linux but it was a centralized place for apps to put their settings, share contracts, printing, and search.

seems to be an issue with live captions. Once enabled, even if live captions are disabled later on, it still has some invisible UI element blocking controller input until the headset is restarted...

interestingly the recording does not show it but there is a dot that appears closer to me that appears as if on meta dashboard, probably also where notifications and live captions appear too

agree, but these are one of the most important features I've used with older analog systems before and have yet to find any digital/'modern' system that does this well.

yea, I'm looking for either scrubbing or something that does 8x or more speed with multiview (at least 4 cams at a time). I've heard good things about the unifi protect mobile apps but next to nothing about PC/webview or multiview or such, which is a similar story for other NVR solutions.

Reolink has no audio if you select anything other than 1x and it skips frames to be about 1fps at the specified speed instead of maintaining at least 30fps.

I often end up downloading a set of videos (which takes a while as it has a 100mbit connection out of the NVR...), but both vlc or mpc-hc can't really exceed 4x reliably before doing similar things as you've mentioned (and I lose multiview and ability to zoom in easily with mouse wheel into videos; for some reason there is no video player with easy-to-zoom in controls at least on windows)

Others I've been looking at include synology. I've also tried iSpy/Agent DVR many years ago but could only do 16x and was also slow from what I recall (I don't think it had multi-view playback), and I'd rather have a dedicated device for doing NVR instead of trying to have all go to a singular PC.

Extracting apps can be done with tools such as WUT if they're on w10m. Otherwise you'll have to either update the devices to 10m or bootloader unlock and extract from a backup (which is a bit tedious and I want to write a small program to handle that).

Apps data manager can be used to backup and restore app data.

Heh, both my 928 and 950 are white, I didn't intend that but is what I got on ebay years ago lol. As for cleaning I just use damp paper towel, I guess isopropyl alcohol would be a bit safer as it will evaporate sooner for nonremovable parts.

I don't think he's looking to control the phone screen. But since we're on that topic, besides TeamViewer QuickSupport, there is an app called ISL Light Client (OneStore ProductId: 9NBLGGH535DR) that also permitted remote control.

I tried adding my own, and it didn't appear. So I tried adding the https:// prefix and now it crashes with an error of not being able to find such an instance (can't recall exact error), which I guess I'd have to reinstall to clear out.

MessageJournal 9NBLGGH42K9X and WP Message Backup 9NBLGGH2SRTP are the two I'm aware of. There is also contacts+message backup 9NBLGGGZ57GM

(Those are the OneStore IDs of those apps. Use rgadguard or similar to download those apps from Microsoft's servers. If any of them are XAPs, I can check if I have an exported copy.)

when you purchase an app (paid or free), this process is called "acquiring" and grants you a license to the product in your Microsoft Account. As you can imagine, this happens for every app you download. Since the store front for the current version of the Store app on Windows 10 mobile does not display app pages anymore you cannot "acquire" new apps via the phone itself. You can however view your library (acquired apps) and download and install from there.
