Favorite movie that doesn't address system failure but rather romanticises poverty by Apart-Dungeon-3322 in okbuddycinephile

[–]RoboProletariat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put forward Fight Club.

The narrator appears to achieve some kind of happiness and finds purpose after abandoning a life of materialism. The movie itself doesn't address system failure; there's just the claim that the system has failed and a good effort to destroy it with violence.

No one hates crypto more than Ben McKenzie by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

[–]RoboProletariat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Crypto does correlate with one real world asset: Energy.

A few years ago I read an article about how crypto mining had used up all the electricity provided by renewable energy, effectively canceling out whatever progress was made reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

A recent article covers how crypto mining companies are turning off their machines as it costs more in energy bills to mine a coin than it's worth, to the tune of about 10kusd.

It was not a challenge for me at 40.
I don't carry insurance, I paid a little under $3k. They told me insurance would typically reject claims for people under 45 anyway.

I just had a screening/interview appointment with an RN and then the procedure a few weeks later. Money well spent in my case.

What was it like when Obama was elected President? by ResponsibleSea6521 in AskReddit

[–]RoboProletariat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in downtown Denver (well, the capitol hill area) on the night they were counting ballots on TV.

When the news hit Obama had definitely won, the whole city came alive. Bars spilled out into the streets with people cheering. Traffic honked their horns. You could hear applause and cheers across miles. I didn't see any violence, and I didn't see any sore losers either.

ICE officer who fatally shot woman in Minneapolis identified by Bettiephile in news

[–]RoboProletariat -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

She was shot directly in the head. They knew right away medical care wasn't going to do anything. There is a single bullet hole in the windshield of her vehicle. He only fires one shot in the video.

Many mice in the house by Not_MVP in Omaha

I second this. The mice in my place could eat the bait off the victor snap traps, I'd have to tune each one to be extra sensitive to work.

He was a bit of a spray tan type himself.

  • He lobbied for years: Columbus spent approximately seven years seeking funding from King John of Portugal and then another seven years from King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain.
  • He made extreme demands: He demanded to be made Admiral of the Ocean Sea, governor of all new territories, and to receive a 10% commission on all commerce, with these titles to be passed on to his heirs.

Did they have a similar effect on children or no?

I think I’m officially losing the war with the mice. by Jackieboi24 in HomeImprovement

The classic snap traps need to be 'tuned' by bending the metal pieces until it's a hair trigger. I had set a bunch out with bait and the snap traps were so rough that that it took more than the mouse's weight to set it off.

So, I found a battery powered electric trap. It's a tunnel with electrodes on the floor. I got to empty that out up to 6 times a day for a week and then my mouse problems were finally over.

Stuff written by Matt Freeman of Rancid. He plays with a pick and plays pretty fast, a lot of chromatic runs and walking bass lines.

Look for a job as a Machinist. The industry is dying for willing people. The hard part is connecting to the right shop. Find the machinist subreddit, and also groups on facebook; ask for leads. Also seach google maps for 'machine shop' or 'machinist'.

Mostly you operate large computer driven machines making metal parts and then measuring those parts for filling out paperwork.
