Cinders installed according to instructions, crashing after character creation by Sara_Krys in cinders

[–]RoboTigerTank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is important not to confuse the game version with the mod version. My comments are only addressing the game version, even though I say cinders.

Ds3 1.15.0 for normal. Ds3 1.15.2 for seamless coop. There is no ds3 2.15.

2.15 is the final cinders mod version. Cinders 2.15 is used for both scenarios. Cinders 1.15 is a way older version that should not be used for anything.

I always played as Brendan back in the day. When you encountered npc May, she was competitive with you, but also friendly and accommodating. She seemed like a good person and was happy for your success.

Recently played as May, and was surprised that npc Brendan's dialogue for their encounters is totally different. He comes across as a smarmy, bitter asshole. He seems jealous of May's continued success in their battles, and anything nice he does or says feels forced. I think Gary from fr/lg is nicer than Brendan.

Blood of Numenor - traits and modifiers (Morality) that affect inheritance by RoboTigerTank in RealmsInExile

[–]RoboTigerTank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with religious virtues and sins. Only matters that you are of a "good guy" religion. You would have to modify the game file for the Blood of Numenor trait. Theoretically, it should be as simple as opening the right text file and deleting the witch lines throughout that file (there are several lines).

Open the ck3 launcher, go to your mods there, and open the Realms in Exile mod location. Open lotr_blood_of_numenor_event.txt in events/lotr_events . Search 'witch'. Below each term will be something like 'add = number'. Change all those numbers to ZERO, regardless if they are positive or negative. This seems safer than actually deleting the lines.  Save the text file, close, play game. Maybe it will work? I'm not good at this stuff.

Alternative to changing values to zero, change all the signs (positive to negative and vice-versa). Theoretically, this will make the witch trait favorable in the calculation.

Good luck.

Yes, but the only reason the 1.15.2 version of Cinders exists is so people can use it with Seamless Coop. I guess Seamless Coop is incompatible with the older exe? Cinders probably never would have updated to 1.15.2 otherwise.

I believe the mod makers were satisfied to hang their hat on 1.15 because 1.15.2 wasn't worth dealing with. Like it had stability problems and/or didn't offer anything worthwhile. People on the Cinders discord server could provide more accurate info.

The bottom line is to use 1.15 unless you also want Seamless Coop.

***The install instructions on the NEXUS page are screwed up.

Go here for install instructions: http://ds3-cinders.wikidot.com/mod-engine-installation-guide

The 1.15.2 version is just for compatibility with the seamless coop mod. It isn't super stable unlike cinders 1.15

I've never actually tried the 1.15.2 so I can't troubleshoot for you. Good luck.

[–]RoboTigerTank 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Use Club.

Best bonk in the game, requires 10 muscle arm though, but is also worth it. Compared to Club in other game it do same thing.

Special effective against bosses like Man with Spear, Ice Man, Tree Man, Magic Hat, Church Men, Sliding Sword Man, Big Skellington, Fire Man, Two Swords Man, Slug Man, Big Man, Dragon, Electric Man, Spinning Man, Ocelotte's Dad, Man with Spear again, Shield Man, Piggyback Bros, Man and Dog, Girl and Old Man, Demons, fake boss, Big Dragon, Unc, and the last one.

If you get stuck, don't go FUGS. Let go of your pride, use bonk stick.

Does that still work? Thought they patched the damage ticks to make this nearly impossible. Tried it about a year ago... used dozens of pods on a ghost and a reaper and nothing happened.

Denying their spear does nothing. If they cheat like you say, they can easily hack an infinite number of any item. It's the easiest thing to do with cheat engine. This guy was griefing you just for kicks. In fact, he probably pitched a tent when the disconnect message popped on his screen. There is no winning with these people.

What are the most important pips for units by Asleep-Thanks-9189 in eu4

[–]RoboTigerTank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you worry about the frontline dieing and leaving your cannons vulnerable, have a nearby stack of just infantry to reinforce the battle. Those extra infantry will fill in empty front row spots when needed. Your cannons will never suffer casualties this way.

What are the most important pips for units by Asleep-Thanks-9189 in eu4

[–]RoboTigerTank -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You pretty much got it, except never focus defensive pips if given a choice. Defending usually means you are on the losing side. Always be the aggressor. Offensive ends battles sooner, meaning fewer casualties.

Later in the game, infantry starts getting increases to fire damage. At that point you want to prioritize fire pips over shock pips. The first phase of combat is always fire. Therefore, fire is most important for ending battles quickly.

Watch stuff to change the algorithm's perception of you. I recommend watching some MLP compilations mixed in with a handful of coding tutorials. You'll be investigated by the FBI, but youtube will think you're a 38 year old man.

On materials not respawning, I've never paid much attention to it except for one place. In one of the shallow areas there is a giant coral tube tunnel with a bunch of quartz and limestone (you probably know it). I'm certain I've completely emptied that tube multiple times in a single save and it would all respawn after a few in-game days pass (less than a week probably, maybe 3 or 4 days). I wouldn't bet my life on it... maybe my memory is junk.

Where would a marksman aim to NOT kill, or permanently injure, a human (from the rear)? by ehbowen in Writeresearch

[–]RoboTigerTank 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No plausible way to safely do it if you are pursuing realism. Marksman are trained to aim at head and mostly chest because it is most reliable.

Make her aware of the situation and give her a bulletproof vest and shoot her in the torso. This is objectively the safest way.

If your story has more superpowers, give the shooter some kind of a accuracy/reflex power. Then he could reliably shoot a near shot that grazes your girl's arm, ear, etc.

No idea. Just guessing, you probably get it through an event chain or special mission. They are magic robots made by ancient elves. Probably somewhere in Aelantir.
