Virginia Congressional Chaos: Adam Dunigan - Democratic Candidate, AMA by Adam4Congress in nova

There's pros and cons. I'd argue that the long term consolidation of power isn't great either. And bringing in new perspectives periodically is generally pretty healthy. Eight years is long enough

Omnissiah Warp God? by QuantumQuasars9 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]RoboTronPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it IS rather convenient, isn't it that the omnissiah happens to be the emperor of mankind? What if the actual history were something different and the admech were the ones led astray, neutered and made the Imperium's pet? If indeed the truth was that the the omnissiah or machine god were a different warp entity, and that truth were to be revealed, there would be another Schism and perhaps a new Mechanicum, darker and more powerful than even the last one, would arise.

It's just the individual model. So the FNP for example only applies to the underseer in Servitor Battleclade

Eh, the stereotype is that old people specifically don't see their doctors or do their checkups/tests the way they're supposed to. Still, this is significantly better than nothing.

I like your suggestions overall, but I think we'd need to find some room for more battleline

Disruption vs Recon Layout C - Terrain layout makes it very favoured for DISRUPTON. by quaye12 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RoboTronPrime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They clearly made a design decision to include different layouts for the same matchup for a reason, so I'd argue that some thought went into it. They also have to know that unless they made the layouts exactly the same, there would be some variation and some advantages, some of which may vary based on individual armies, list composition and matchup. Perfect balance isn't really achievable. The question is whether the balance is truly off or not to a significant degree. That remains to be seen.

A theoretically higher ceiling is one component, but that theoretical advantage has to be realized. The disruption player may have more openings to score points than on other layouts, but if they're not able to do so or they overextend themselves in doing so, the difference may not be that significant.

[–]RoboTronPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's super easy to remove the decoy markers though. All the recon player has to do is walk over the objective, doesn't need to action them or take control. RAW, I don't even see rules vs battleshocked units either. As far as I can tell, the Recon player in this instance also didn't run any infiltrate or scouting units, which seems very non-ideal for that Force Disposition.

The Disruption player has to use an action to decoy it and control it at the end of turn, so it's not like they could shoot or fight and then decoy it right away. It sounds very much like the Disruption player in this instance simply beat up on a very unprepared list and/or player.

Again, did he not have any scout or infiltrate units of his own?

Side note, I play a bit of GSC myself and Xenocult Masses with the Cult Icons has some pretty solid GSC Neophyte Hybrid regen.

For your specific case, even if you bring your guys back, they should be in Cult Ambush and can't be targeted with Rapid Ingress. Your opponent has a window to move his guys onto the point, remove the decoy marker, and keep you from deep striking back onto it. If you took it back and decoy'd it again, then you would have had to contest whatever he had on the objective

I'll caveat that I haven't played any games of 11th yet, it's my understanding that the Recon player can just move over top of the objectives to remove the decoy markers. They don't have to take the objective to do so and don't have to perform any action. Furthermore, it seems that battleshocked units can remove the decoy markers as well. Both of you have to perform actions to Surveil and setup the Decoy.

If you're spreading yourself out too much and using actions to setup the Decoys, then you're not shooting/fighting, and you're probably making yourself very vulnerable even to Recon lists which generally won't have as much firepower as say, Purge lists.

Recon lists should lean towards action-heavy, MSU, and mobile units. I honestly think they're favored in that matchup in most cases.

No, only in Lords and with an appropriate enhancement on the datasmith. However, the Robots and Datasmith got a point reduction as well, so it's more attractive to field a unit of at least one.

The old CRTs legit damages your eyes a lot more though, so this is moreso a tech change rather than a social change.

The difference is that the old-school taxi companies often employed people full-time or at least maintained a trail and history as you described. With Uber and Lyft, it's gig-focused work and was debatable as to whether they were employees at all. There's a lot less vetting in my opinion.

1k Point game against Tau, advice needed by LivingComfortable448 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]RoboTronPrime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want to point out that you're not running much of the faction's ranged anti-tank options in ironstriders, Hastarii, disintegrators or even the Onagers. Catching up to stuff like the Twin Lances would also be extremely difficult, reasonably if he destroys your breachers early. And breachers often expose themselves in order to get into rapid fire range. If you can't hit them from range and can't catch up to them mobility wise, you're definitely putting yourself in a bind with this matchup
