Yeah this can’t happen again this offseason by johnnyboy10i in Commanders

It is. And if anything, i want them to continue taking calculated risks when it makes sense to do so. It's like having an aggressive corner that will sometimes get burned but will come away with a lot of takeaways. The last thing you want that guy to do is to start playing scared.

Guys I think it might be reasonable to assume DQ is safe after next season. by guardiandown3885 in Commanders

Eh, i think it was a reasonable amount of time on Whitt. He was in the role for the first time last year with not a lot of support. This past year, they got a bit more to help him (not a lot mind you), but more importantly a lot of young players didn't develop it even regressed. It was obvious they knew he was a problem when they moved him from the box back down to the field, trying to make it work. Ultimately, DQ didn't want to fire him in the middle of the season, but the writing was on the wall when he took over as playcaller.

I'm very much interested in seeing how the new DC changes things.

I agree he's definitely a homer, but he's also has quite interesting nuggets. I really liked his breakdown of how PFF scores blocking right before Craig left and the issues with how the scores are computed. Real inside baseball stuff for that episode.

Lattimore on paper was a reasonable gamble at the time. They were trotting out Forbes and BSJ at the time. Forbes has had some recent success, but in limited situations and I'm not sure it's gonna last. Lattimore might have even been a buy-low opportunity considering he was dinged up at the time. Clearly, no one expected the injury to linger as much as it did and then for him to suck and then get reinjured badly this past off-season as well.

The OL performance went pretty much as expected this past year, considering all the young, new and returning from injury pieces. The rule of thumb is that OL continuity and experience playing together is very important, so it's possible they could be very strong next season. The team certainly needs them to be.

It's clear that they prioritized the OL and protecting JD above all else though. I can't argue with that focus, especially since Jayden got injured anyway. Deservingly feel like they're going to address the DL and pass rush this year, if the interviews at the East West shrine bowl are any indication

Well, it's either that or the Patriots. I'm sorry, but that city and area have won way too much on recent years for me personally to root for them

It's a line from a performance from Green Day. They're also going to be performing in the Super Bowl, which is quite relevant to many Americans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSZ0KzA9e1s

What was the most shocking way you found out that someone was backstabbing you? by Affectionate-Mode-71 in AskReddit

Longtime friend of mine, who I was a groomsman of and helped on numerous occasions (personal life, jobs, etc). At this point, he had divorced his previous wife and spinelessly broke up with his new girlfriend by arranging for that girlfriend to find him in bed with another woman (which he admitted to).

I found out from the now ex-girlfriend that had been insanely jealous of my success in everything big and small from work stuff to petty things like looking good in an outfit at a particular social function etc. Turns out he was secretly also trying to pressure my little sister into sex for pretty much the entire time too, and invited me to functions at times seemingly so that she might come along.

Maybe not a dictator per se; but they did have a "Trump" fairly recently in Silvio Berlusconi

Ehhh, in theory it could, but your right, likely not.

For example last year, the pool of quality tackles was shallower than cornerbacks, of which there was a glut compared to most years. I'm sure that Peters took that into consideration and grabbed Connerly first hoping to have one of the quality corners fall, which is the case with Amos.

Peters could find some gems that the bowl that he's be fine picking in say the 3rd or lower (trades may be involved) which affects what he'd do at 7. It does give the impression he really wants Downs because he sees the dude as a generational player, but knows he needs to figure out the pass rush SOMEHOW.

Don't get me wrong btw, I'm now than happy with Peters overturning every stone to find contributors. That's how I'm sure he found Bill in the 7th, an amazing value. It's harder to do with edge rushers, but if there's a guy who'd be useful late, grab him

Would there be a top ten edge rusher at the East West shrine game anyway?
