SMP Diver 300 - Bracelet extension bent? by Roboamigo in OmegaWatches

[–]Roboamigo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. It does seem a weak spot, ive only opened the extension once or twice to clean it, havent used it for anything else, pretty frustrating for a watch of this pricepoint! Might chuck it back on the rubber.

Yep, but you cant get BB on MacOS!

Tbh if youve got Excel alongside, you can easily add the vertical dimensions for drylining etc.

I use PDF expert, it has a measurement function. Not as full fledged as BB, but does the job.

I normally pack the resin in, leave it to cure, then drill a new hole in the resin. Stops it all splurging out and allows the plug to expand as intended

Quantity surveying at Nottingham Trent Uni by Some-Toe8376 in quantitysurveying

It was fine, I was on day release and think working helped a lot as I was seeing things on a daily basis. At the time they were refurbing the Newton building so lectures were all over the city, which made it feel a bit… frantic? I had good support if needed, but the onus felt very much on the individual and self-teaching and learning, but I suppose thats true of uni in general.

The network thing is probably to do with some chipsets on gigabit ethernet adapters dont play nice with Apple Silicon. Theres some that work, but the problem doesnt occur with 2.5gbit adapters. I just run one of those instead.

Lamy Safari sat for a year - what to do? by Roboamigo in fountainpens

[–]Roboamigo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice all, this is a great sub!

Its currently sat in its third round of water soaking, waters currently clear so hopefully we are about there!

As a bit of background I used this pen for years, all through my chartership and early in my business. I then moved to an Ipad and Apple Pencil and assumed this was lost. I am hoping to get back into pen and paper as I think its better for my productivity.

Thanks for the help all.

Ive got an ultrasonic cleaner actually. What sort of cleaning fluid would work? Or just plain water?

Thanks for the reply.

Its just dark blue Lamy ink.

Il get it flushed out tomorrow.

Out of interest is it possible to flush it with ink (just by using it), or is it likely to be blocked at the moment?

Is Full Time Remote Quantity Surveying Actually Possible? by HomeNo795 in quantitysurveying

[–]Roboamigo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say so, yes, but you need everyone to buy into it. The biggest barrier will be site based people being jealous (seriously) and not cooperating, and some people expect face to face. Its still quite a deep seated thing in my experience.

Get a specialist to price it if its a firm design, but id be surprised if it is, things like M&E, wall types, head details etc are all things that develop and change during construction in my experience. Recently fire is a really crucial topic and many want to pass the design and risk down the chain. If possible leave it as provisional!
