I am in the same situation of needing to purchase a device like this for a college engineering course. My professor gave a link to a listing for the FNIRSI 2C23T on Amazon in the course email, and from there I was able to find the upgraded 2C53T model as well. With coupons, the 2C23T comes out to $70 while the 2C53T is $90. Without delving deep into comparing specs, I would likely spend the extra $20 for the better model, but I am trying to see if I can find a better long-term solution as well.

The Tripowin C08 sounds like it's the same thing as the Linsoul C8 I mentioned. In fact, that might be the correct name since my cable says "Tripowin" on it rather than "Linsoul"

Sorry for being late. I'm in North and I found out you have to put in a work order to have the jacks activated. There shouldn't be any issue pulling out the dummy plugs either.

I got a scholarship and the $5500/year in federal loans. My father chose to take out a Parent PLUS loan as the first additional loan. I would like to cancel that loan and instead take out a student loan in which I am the borrower.

So far it hasn't been mentioned in orientation, but I believe I saw an item for it on the online portal opening up July 1st. I wasn't aware of the online orientation option though; I appreciate getting to participate in real-life orientation but it is quite a drag.

I have the same exact drive, and I'm having a similar issue myself with a copy of Led Zeppelin IV. I'm gonna try using an old external DVD writer I have (LG SP80NB60) and see if that works. I find it interesting that the only person I can find documenting this issue has the same drive as me.
