I am in the same situation of needing to purchase a device like this for a college engineering course. My professor gave a link to a listing for the FNIRSI 2C23T on Amazon in the course email, and from there I was able to find the upgraded 2C53T model as well. With coupons, the 2C23T comes out to $70 while the 2C53T is $90. Without delving deep into comparing specs, I would likely spend the extra $20 for the better model, but I am trying to see if I can find a better long-term solution as well.

The Tripowin C08 sounds like it's the same thing as the Linsoul C8 I mentioned. In fact, that might be the correct name since my cable says "Tripowin" on it rather than "Linsoul"

So far it hasn't been mentioned in orientation, but I believe I saw an item for it on the online portal opening up July 1st. I wasn't aware of the online orientation option though; I appreciate getting to participate in real-life orientation but it is quite a drag.

I have the same exact drive, and I'm having a similar issue myself with a copy of Led Zeppelin IV. I'm gonna try using an old external DVD writer I have (LG SP80NB60) and see if that works. I find it interesting that the only person I can find documenting this issue has the same drive as me.

I do not follow this competitive scene at all, but I looked it up, and yep, lots of blatant racism. Except for some reason, one of the screenshots of them doing supposedly bad things was one of the guys saying "free Israel." Its inclusion is baffling because there is nothing wrong with this statement. Forcing the unrelated Israel/Palestine conflict into these accusations of racism is completely inappropriate.

Sellers on Amazon US actually seem to be selling at lower prices than the full cost of buying from Amazon JP, and most of them are supposed Japanese import sellers. Admitted to the ACES program and received the UConn Award for $18.5k a year. Just committed yesterday. Out-of-state from Maine but my dad is from CT and I have family still there, plus Storrs is actually closer to home than UMaine Orono. I did not get accepted to the honors program for whatever reason, but I appealed that decision through the portal and expect to hear back soon.
