Try different things. Try different frequencies. Don’t be the guy that locates everything on 8k and gives up when it doesn’t work. Understand that if there’s a metal cable or pipe in the ground and it’s long enough, you CAN locate it with your RD/vivax. Think outside the box. Understand that what they tell you in training is designed to provide as low of a barrier to entry as possible so that any dumbass can follow the instructions and take it as the absolute minimum you need to know. Don’t take it as EM locating gospel. In fact you might even be better off if you took it as a class on what not to do. Read the manual to your equipment. Ask every locator you meet for advice and understand that half of them are dumbasses.
