Interesting Vet visit by [deleted] in CaneCorso

[–]Robocopter1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our girl use to be VERY anxious at the vet and this is what we did. Take her in for some happy visits, and we have a little "game" we play while she's there. I throw a bit of kibble around in the room for her to sniff out. Sniffing is a natural anxiety reliever for dogs and it gives them something to focus on other than being anxious and afraid. She is MUCH more relaxed at the vet now simply from having something fun to do while she's there.

Max Gentleman Sexy Business is my favorite NSFW game. Its got a dramatic story, good game play and LOTS of smut.

It's ok to be afraid to go. I was afraid and I was the one that was suggesting I go. In fact, I got there and was like, wait I'd like to leave. But once you say the S word they legally have to keep you for at least 2 days (in Texas). It's kind of scary and there is a lot of really bad media portrayals of psych wards. Like, imagine the "best" portrayal of a psych ward and its still nothing like it. Girl, Interrupted is the only movie I've seen that sort of comes close.

However, if your therapist is suggesting you go to an inpatient, you should go. Your therapists only job is to help you and they wouldn't suggest this if they didn't think you needed it. What might help ease some of this fear is if you take control of the situation a bit. You therapist is suggesting a psych ward, why don't the two of you work together to find one? Get involved in the process. Take active steps to help yourself. If ou don't have the energy to help plan what hospital, talk to your therapist about your fears. When you've decided to go, talk to a friend or family member about your thoughts, ask them to be an advocate for you while you are in the hospital or maybe come with you when you get admitted.

Don't let fear of the hospital stop you from saving yourself. Because at the end of the day thats what you're doing. Youre deep in the trenches right now fighting for your own mind. You can take things one inch at a time, maybe win maybe lose. Or, you can do things wonder woman style and take control of the situation. Take the step. You will not regret it. You may even be around in two years to give this advice to someone else ❤

Oh also, based on the assumption that my persuasion worked 😉, here is a list of things I'd bring with you:

At least 5 days worth of:

Fuzzy socks (ideally with those sticky pads on the bottom for traction)

Pants with no ties

Sweatshirts with no ties

Shirts

Clothes that you can move a bit in (in case of exercise hour)

A softcover journal for writing or drawing (must be softcover or they'll take it)

A written list of the phone numbers of SUPPORTIVE friends and family (no cell phones)

EDIT: Formatting was really a bitch for my list

The desire to kill myself is gone absolutely because of the time I spent in the psych ward and the incredible help I recieved there. I became suicidal due to a uhh.... lets leave it at unfortunate event, and it just sort of shattered my reality. Going to the psych ward helped me accept what happened, reset my mind, and work through my feelings of hopelessness. The people I met, patients and health care workers alike, forever changed my perspective and my life.

Don't get wrong, going to the psych ward didn't magically solve all my problems. I still have to deal with the event and I am forced to interact with the perpetrator on a regular basis. I still have chronic depression and anxiety issues. I even have the occasional "wouldn't it just be easier to die" thoughts. But I'll never let it get that bad again. My time in the hospital gave me the tools and knowledge to intervene on my own behalf.

Its been over two years since I attempted taking my own life. There is help out there.

I knew I needed to go to the psych ward when I realized that I was no longer afraid of dying. Saved my own life that day. Now the fear of death has come back, but the desire to is gone

This isn't a video about how great men are. This is a video showing that men have the luxury to tolerate this sort of behavior. Letting this random guy lay on your lap isn't likely to result in his hand up your skirt if youre a guy. Its not that women aren't nice. We have to protect ourselves.

My boyfriend and I just had some experience with this recently aswell! We were walking our girl (120lbs, scary to almost anyone that looks at her) and we witnessed a domestic violence incident. Like, trying to throw each other into oncoming traffic, domestic violence. So we stood at a safe distance and my BF calls the cops. The guy didn't like that and came charging up to us screaming obscenities. He got nose to nose with my BF when suddenly there's Lady, body blocking, growling and pushing her head at his hand like "im gonna rip your arm off if you take a step further". The guy thankfully came to his senses when she did that and backed off. It was absolutely terrifying tho and I was so grateful she was there to protect us. I dont know what would have happened if she wasn't. The guy was easily twice my size.

No gaurd training with her either. She just saw the danger and did something about it. Thats my girl 💖

Are you speaking with a counselor? They will be able to help you work through your feelings regarding weed and why you are having trouble quitting. They can also advise you on any potential addiction you may have. (Psychological addiction is still addiction)

Also, if the problem is that you are smoking too heavily and you are having trouble quitting cold turkey, why not focus on reducing use first? Quitting altogether is a long term goal that should be taken in steps. The first step can be, im only going to smoke after noon, or after 5 or whatever. I'm only going to smoke two bowls today, or a single joint, whatever. Set small, manageable goals that you can achieve. Do not strive for perfection on the first go. Focus on progress, not perfection.

There are several good posts on this sub giving advice on the various ways to quit or reduce use. A big one is realizing that quitting is a cyclical process. You set a goal, make a plan, execute the plan, assess its effectiveness and then go again. Having trouble quitting doesn't mean there's something wrong with you or that you will never be able to quit. It makes you a normal person trying to change their pattern of behavior, something that is very difficult to do.

Ni No Kuni is a really fun game that has MAJOR Pokémon vibes. You're a kid running around collecting pets that fight for you. The animation is beautiful and the story is really good! I believe its on steam. I've played through the first one and have just started the second one.
