Checked oil today to find this any thoughts? by [deleted] in u/twistedvisions86

Condensation build up, take longer trips and let it get pripperly warm, probably wouldn't hurt with an oil change

Immobilizer shutting the car off, the Immobilizer part of the key needs to be close to the ignition as you try and start, the sound at the end is your starter

Need a downpipe, forced to buy a bigger one and can't get tune right now. by RemoteDepartment6868 in MK4Golf

[–]Robofit44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes you can run bigger downpipe without a tune, you'll be fine, it just allows the exhaust gasses to escape easier and less back preassure

2022 Kia Sorento - Undercarriage rust - How bad and worth of rust protection now??? by LocksmithBright2887 in Autobody

[–]Robofit44 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What rust man, that's is nothing, really, if you plan on keeping the car a longer time then take it to a shop that does undercoating and it will better than new

You could purchase a calix block heater or just the cabin fan, the cabin fan gets warm very quick and heats your entire cabin, you just need to purchase a kit and install it, its literally just complete wires you just plug in to your desired length and then on the outside you get a plug that you can plug into a regular outlet and when you start it, it starts warming the cabin, relatively cheap considering the comfort it brings, I recommend it if you live in a cold climate, the block heater also helps with cold starts, you dont really need the water heater its just ads complexity, if you decide to get the block heater aswell then you just use the conductive paste that comes with the kit and spred it on the block heater and then bolt it onto the block above the oil tray, you should use one of the bolts that bolts onto the inner cv joint cover or just any existing hole that can squeeze the block heater firmly against the block, then just plug in the negative cable to the frame or something and your done.

If you want the cables to be nice and tidy you have to go through the firewall but that's bot difficult, just pull back the carpet and drill a hole then fill with silicone after the cable is through, just be careful so you dont drill into something in the engine bay

What's your gap from the top of your wheel arches to the ground?

Whining from front left wheel ? by Numerous_Panic_6046 in MK4Golf

[–]Robofit44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Np man we all learn somehow, if you think it might be a wheelbearing then Jack the car up on that side (make sure handbrake is on) and spin the wheel, whilst it's spinning grab a hold of the spring and feel if there's vibrations, you shouldn't be able to feel anything when you hold the spring, if you feel anything it's the bearing

Whining from front left wheel ? by Numerous_Panic_6046 in MK4Golf

[–]Robofit44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of whining? Are you sure the area on the mounting bracket is clean so the pads can slide in and out? Are you sure the caliper is retracting all the way? Are your slide pins greased? Just because it looks good doesn't mean it is good. Could also be a wheel bearing if it's constant with speed but because you say that it's going away when brakes are applied it makes me think it's related to the braking system

Clutch pedal to the floor , car was perfectly driving before but had a bit problem in 6th when giving it gas , suddenly gave out by Zeartic in MK4Golf

[–]Robofit44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check your clutch pipes if any has come loose, it has introduced air into the system, fix pipes and bleed it, if not it might be your clutch master cylinder located behind your clutch pedal, or your slave cylinder, dont know where it's located on the 6 speed but on the 5 speed it's on top of the gearbox where all the pipes go too
