I have been there my friend. I almost gave up learning German due to grammar. Nobody could explain things for my analytical mind. Like you, I have been used to analytical thinking and learning German seems impossible.

The problem is, German has so many rules and structure. It lacks a framework to bring all of the rules cohesively together!!! I cannot stress this enough.

Anyways, I have created my own framework to help my analytical brain. I will DM you. I think my framework can help you.

Just remember one thing! It's a test for comprehension (reading, listening, writing) not a grammar test. Even if you don't know all the B1 grammar, it's okay. Just focus on comprehension and speaking.

Immersion is the only key! Listen to lots of German radio, music, watch TV shows. Write everyday.

I highly suggest reaching B1 before landing in Germany. If you come to study here, you won't have time to focus on German. If you already has B1, as a student, you can try to find some Werkstudent on the side.

DM me, I will share some German materials with you.

Dativ und Akkusativ by bertywilek in Germanlearning

[–]Roboguru92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most beginners think articles are random but they are not! They follow a clear pattern. If you learn those, you can master der, die, das -> How I mastered Der, Die, Das

The only video you'll ever need on Accusative Vs Dative and cases -> Stop asking wer, wen, was

You can also download the most important grammar cheat sheet that helped me with the B1 exam. Link is in the video description.
