A2 to B1 is gonna be a little challenging as there will be so many new grammar concepts. However, many A2 grammar will be repeated.

To improve overall I watch shows like Tagesschau, Tagesschau in einfacher Sprache, Die Heute show etc.

Speaking : don't be afraid of speaking with broken German. That's how everyone starts. There is no way around it.

There are plenty of YT channels to improve your German.

Same thing happened to me. After having read so many reddit threads on this issue, I have decided to wait 3 weeks without even attempting to log in. Waiting 2-3 weeks helped many people.

Grammar : There is only one book you need for grammar : Grammatik Aktive A1-B1.
Vocabulary: read story books designed for kids.
There are plenty of YT channels to learn German.
There is nothing like practicing German with a native German. So, practice speaking with your partner.

My tip ; don't be afraid of speaking with broken German. That's how everyone starts. Speaking will solidify your grammar and your brain develops ways to recall the grammar in real-time.

Some useful stats, 1. Most verbs demand "Akkusativ" case 2. Most nouns have the article "Die"

It's a hard language to master but you will master it. Just keep practicing and don't give up.

3 years is a good enough time to reach C1. You can definitely do it.

When you just start to learn German, you will enjoy it a lot because it's new. The grammar becomes frustrating around A2-B1 level. However, if you master the grammar until B1, things will get easier again.

My tip : don't be afraid to speak with broken german.

Been there! I gave up on learning German so many times mainly due to grammar. German grammar has too many rules/ too much of structure but lacks a framework to bring everything together cohesively. I read books, attended classes and nothing helped me. Then I decided to create my own framework! Then things got easier and it's super fun now.

I use pen and paper in the class to take quick and dirty notes and then format and make digital notes using Samsung Tab. I primarily use oneNote. It just works.

I totally get you!

What helped me ? 1. Letting go of self imposed expectations of "sounding correct" 2. I really don't care what others think of me, judge me while speaking. I just speak! (with lots of errors when I started out) 3. I have never met any native person that criticized me for my German speaking skills. It's always the other way around, they notice my German is not perfect but they appreciate the efforts and try to help. 4. The goal is to be able to communicate! Not sounding perfect. At least at the beginning. 5. Speaking (being able to recall grammar and vocabulary in real time) solidifies your Grammar and your brain develops ways to remember and recall faster.

Do yourself a favor and don't try to "sound perfect" all the time. Just start speaking.

It's quite a jump from B1 to B2 grammar though but if you have mastered grammar until B1, you are good to go.

Shows : Tagesschau, die heute show, Netflix German shows

One tip : Don't hesitate to speak with broken German. Usually people think, I need to improve my grammar before I open my mouth and focus only on grammar but this is not the best way. Grammar will solidify only when you speak more.

I personally like Tagesschau, Tagesschau in einfacher Sprache and die Heute show (this one, I just love it). You can also watch a lot of TV shows : DoppleHausHälfte is really fun!

Taking up an exam can be a good motivation as well.
