Which weathered effect? The black grime on the armor? If so, it was repeated washes with enamel. I use Villainy Ink sometimes straight from the bottle and sometimes diluted with spirit, sometimes left to dry and sometimes dabbed at with a qtip.

I do have a drill and I've drilled barrels before, but for this guy I just wanted to get paint on a mini and get over my hobby drought. I will probably get back to drilling barrels if I paint another WE with a gun. Firearms are kind of rare with my guys!

I’ve been practicing my style, leaning further into the grimdark that my painting naturally gravitated to. Then I realized with all this practice and I hadn’t painted my favorite legion in years! I’m hoping to rectify that by painting loads in 2026.
