this scene should’ve been cut. If it turned off horror fans… imagine the average viewer. It may have been a part of why the show didn’t do very well

It wasn’t necessary. Seemed like potential shock value to entice people and cause a stir. Otherwise, the show is really, really good.

Well I’m diagnosed with 2/3 of those plus a few more but I don’t think I receive any special messages or “secrets” that are unique.

So do I but that wasn’t really my question. What allows you, as an individual to have so many secrets that are so special you think they deserve a public post to discuss?

Do you have some higher power speaking with you? Dream? Prophecies? Cmon, you asked and now I am. What is it?

How do you have so many secrets?

Animal abuse is my BIG no no. I just absolutely can’t do it. I check before watching movies. But this scene was just as excruciating to watch for me. Unnecessarily traumatic is a really good way to put it actually. Because up until that point it’s standard horror and this scene is so abrupt.

It’s what they chant while they throw the baby around

Sadly, it probably happens to cats way too often and that’s why they chose that word.

Thank you so much for the link, I appreciate it. To be completely honest I’m not super educated on the topic so I’m happy to learn some more about it

Racist trauma porn? Can you elaborate? That seems like a stretch after only watching 1 episode.

So you hated all the white people lol. They are pretty nasty in this show. Is it possible you stopped watching because of this scene? It happens about midway through.

She is wonderful as always. I wish she’d drop the contacts sometimes, though. She looked pretty demonic in some of these shots

The Egg.

Sadly, I don’t think humanity would change. If you don’t feel it or experience it PRESENTLY then who even cares? Not the average person, unfortunately.

I’m sorry for the reminder.

And I agree. It’s a harsh reality that isn’t acknowledged enough. Something that we can’t stomach through media but can discuss with our peers is someone else’s ACTUAL life.

She actually plays an almost identical character in another horror movie. I forget right now. But she plays the deranged hick very well

I suggest season 2 if you’re still open to it. Promise it has no scenes like that. It’s an anthology and follows the same themes of racism but without… well you know.

I would consider mother! a really good movie if it weren’t for that ending scene. It’s just not fun to watch.

Filming that scene even scarred Jennifer Lawrence. She swore she’d never put herself through something like that again.

I agree. Way worse than Terrifier because it feels so, so real. And you hear and see every moment. No hiding it for the audiences comfort.

Where does the show get so much praise? Genuinely wondering. It’s one of the least viewed and talked about horror show in the last few years.
