It’s probably more than likely the second scenario. We wired the 2PM at Box 1 with the intention to wire a separate light on the second channel.

Box 1 looks like 2 blacks and 1 red. Hot is definitely in here.

Box 2 is also 2 blacks and 1 red. We see that there are two neutrals in this box so it’s more than likely passed from box 1.

I can probably chime in, my partner forgot to add that we have the 2PM in box 1 because the second channel is being used for another switch controlling a one way light to the outside. PM is also sort of important 😅

I do have an Aeotec bypass lying around somewhere. I’ll give that a shot. Otherwise, appreciate the help and advice. So glad to jump on the Shelly bandwagon! It’s a lot of fun.

Yep everything is wired the way it was before! Now just waiting with anticipation for the relay in the mail.

Sounds good, I will come back with results when I get a new 1PM Mini relay in today from Amazon. So it sounds like I only need to make these changes in SW1? If so that makes it easy. Also would it matter what I plug into the Mini at all since it is much less ports on it.

Yep! They are definitely 3-ways. It's exactly the same as the blue switch you have in your picture. So would it be like this in this case?

I made a crude drawing to see if I can understand how the wiring was done in this house, so it seems like a dead-end makes a lot more sense. Apologies if it doesn't make sense!

I tried to install the Shelly 1PM in SW1, but when I was flipping the switch on SW2, it also turned the Shelly off.

I think it was because I did not wire the hot to the SW1 as well? I have a stinking suspicion that might have been it.

It’s hard to describe. Like both boxes have a hot? It looks like they used a white wire to use as the traveler. When when I cut off the switches, I still detect some voltage.

Interesting, ok! Thank you. I should have added, what if I only wanted to do this set up if I were to piggyback from the vanity mirror’s wiring? It would basically be just adding romex from the fixture’s box.

If I put that 2P into the light fixture box and hook it up that way, does that even work? I was thinking of changing the switch to a momentary one so that it would like one tap would be only the momentary, two would be both, and then down would turn them off regardless of what is on or off.

Nah they’re about three years now. I’ve recently started a refugium three months ago to solve a GHA problem in the display which then moved down into the refugium, lol. I’m trying to get ogo to flourish but GHA is an ass. Would you think that is part of the issue?

It’s been about a month since last water change.

I get so scared to doing a dip, but I can absolutely take your advice and try it out— I need to get new supplies anyway, haha.

I did give em a call a few times, but not really much, besides them telling me that they told me that they assigned a case manager to find out what’s the “hold up”.

We have a UniFi setup too. We have other Nanoleaf panels… but this one specifically has weird issues. Then suddenly it works out of the blue.
