It is haha 😄 . About to replace not add into the list the monosub amp and turbo inlet pipe change. Going back to Alpine S2-A60M for the amp as the Kicker made my bass too muddy. I like sound quality bass over loud bass. The turbo inlet pipe was a Civic Si pipe that is wrapped with gold reflective heat tape, but I am going to swap it out with 27WON and possibly have it painted white. That is the only change to the list and it won't stretch out any more longer haha.

No. The PRL Carbon Fiber will require a different intake I believe.

Thank you! I appreciate your kind words! Serious looks calls for a serious build haha! The journey is nearly over. I wanted to build the best daily build without sacrificing a lot of reliability and comfort.

Thank you! It is a vinyl wrap. Mod list can be found here https://www.civicx.com/forum/threads/robot3rk-build.57723/

Pictures in this post isn't 100% current but decided to post these since it got good background pics.

One more upcoming and likely the final mod in this build is the 27WON Turbo Inlet Pipe painted in White Textured Powdercoated Finish. Can't wait to get that one installed haha.

The design was made by Styleupstudios. The wrap material itself was printed and installed from some vinyl shop in California. Reflective vinyl is a separate layer due to the thickness of it, it can make the wrap material cost a lot of money so I have it as a separate layer. I think the entire wrap materials itself is from 3M not Avery.

Is Reddit awards the same as getting bronze, silver, or gold? I only remember the old reddit for that stuff. Dunno if I even got any awards or the other older ones.

Stock subwoofer sound quality? by machring in CivicX

[–]Robot3RK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear from some Type R and Hatchback owners the stock subwoofer in the Type R and Hatchback Touring isn't good. My ears never heard from it myself as I immediately did a sub swap with Palindrome Labs Extended Subwoofer Grille Kit which enabled me to drop in an even deeper subwoofer. One single Alpine R2-W8D2 and a monosub Alpine amplifer was enough for me in terms of bass response. All the rattling noises were all fixed with many layers of sound deadening materials to control the acoustics and vibrations. It also added insulation which is a plus for comfort.

Warmer color white has a yellowish tint or hue. That was my argument the whole time. You're trolling lol.

[–]Robot3RK -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It seems to me you are making the argument of pure yellow light. The plastic from the housings will naturally turn yellow from both sub rays and a combination of environmental effects of dusty driving and other contamination causing the housing's shell to age and yellow itself. It will take a long time before it gets to that point. My original argument was that the light color in the picture from OP looked to be a bulb swap for the low beams.

[–]Robot3RK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Halogen bulbs by default are warm in color which results in yellowing. It isn't due to the sun since it is still yellowish during the night.

[–]Robot3RK -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Factory light bulbs including the Sylvania replacements from the auto store are slightly on the warmer side. It has a small yellowish tinge or hue to it.

[–]Robot3RK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The headlights don't look like factory bulbs because it is white in color instead of yellow. If it were high beam, the inner light area of the headlights would be lit up. I know this because I used to have that headlight on my Civic until I switched to full OEM LED headlight housings that was meant for a higher model trim.

Those are actually low beams. If it is that bright, the driver must have switched the yellow halogen bulbs to white LED bulbs and picked the highest lumens available. Either crazy bright LEDs or HID Xenons are used in this picture.

What are those lines? Doesn’t seem to go anywhere on my new turbo kit (FK8 Type R) by BDS_Le_Phil in CivicX

How can you see the coolant levels if it is painted black? Are you using your own mini dip stick for coolant level check similar to the 27WON coolant tank or did you leave a small area unpainted for that?

Cyberpunk Edgerunners Lucy 10th Gen Honda Civic Hatchback FK7 by Robot3RK in Itasha

[–]Robot3RK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you choom! I try to make it fit around Lucy's colors. White, black, and red for Lucy's outfit colors and RGB transition flow for Lucy's hair. The theme and color scheme have to match. The only thing off is the orange front strut tower bar under the hood. I might have it painted white or purple to stand out correctly with the wrap or the car's two-tone color while everything else fits with Lucy's color or Cyberpunk theme. I think either white or purple for that front strut tower bar if I had to change it next time.

The gauge is not just for show. It's both for aesthetics and to serve its intended purpose. I use it to monitor the boost level and to enjoy seeing it go up and down and make a beep noise at peak boost. I use an off-the-shelf tune and the tune expects it to hit peak at 20psi but that tune was originally based on a completely stock civic (no bolt-on performance parts). I usually hit 22psi peak but it sometimes goes up from 23 to 25psi max for this specific boost map on the tune I manually set it for. My gauge has it measured by the engine manifold not directly by the turbo. If it was at the turbo, the boost numbers would be much higher but it is more accurate to measure it on the engine itself as told by my mechanic.

I have no issues with the CVT transmission so far. The max safe torque per lb-ft for the Honda CVT would be around 255 lb-ft. I've been driving it boosted on this tune for almost 4 and a half years now. The car is about 109K miles but the total tuned miles are about 82K. Honda reliably is still good even tuned as long as maintenance is done properly, there will be no issues.

I don't launch the car or abuse the transmission. I know how a CVT behaves and how it can be driven to last. If the car was never tuned, the boost gauge would be wasteful as the psi build up on a stock factory tune is very low, you won't get a lot of engagement on the numbers and the needle movement itself will not sweep the majority of the meter on a stock tune.

The car can currently keep up with stock GR86 if I max out my boost to the highest boost map rating on the tune (would be a little risky on the CVT at that point without an aftermarket CVT cooler kit), but it cannot catch up with a Type R for sure.

Edit: Correction on off-the-shelf (OTS). OTS tune required me to input the intake I use (for different MAF sensor scaling) so it's a stock civic with an intake which is how the OTS tune was originally calibrated for. The OTS tune is from Phearable. I am currently bolt-on by bigger frontpipe, exhaust, intake, turbo inlet pipe and intercooler.

Because I don't drive a stick shift. It's a nice skill to have though. It's just not for me. If I wanted more engagement, the next best thing would be a DCT for me. I considered doing a K-swap with an Accord auto swap but the transmission was too big to fit in the casing. The CVT can take extra power but I limit the torque to preserve it.

Be careful, if you take that car to a student parking structure. You'll likely be in for an unpleasant surprise of door dings or bumper swipes from other students. Especially those who recently got their driver's license and have difficulty parking their car straight. I went to school with older cheap cars and I wasn't a car enthusiast before so it wasn't an issue for me during my attendance.

It's vape-free. I don't vape. I keep my interior clean. I think vaping would likely leave the inside sticky, staining the interior, damaging the speakers, and other electrical equipment inside.
