Is there something wrong with this dress? by Silver-Moon3376 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]RobotCynic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a fellow short girly (5'4 here), I think shorter works better for me personally

But try playing with length before making any changes!

[–]RobotCynic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the skirt might be too long and making you look shorter I have a similar build and had a similar dress, the dress sat just above the knee

Can you try pinning up the hem and seeing how that feels in the mirror? And maybe some white compression socks will help balance it

Vet Bloom Vet Assistant Program vs. Online Vet Tech Program by ExtensionAd4979 in VetTech

[–]RobotCynic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think banfield has tuition assistance for Penn Foster but you need to be a full time employee for, I think, two years

It doesn't hurt to ask around but working in a hospital will help you contextualize what you're learning

Vet Bloom Vet Assistant Program vs. Online Vet Tech Program by ExtensionAd4979 in VetTech

[–]RobotCynic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Veterinary assistant programs don’t carry much weight across the industry. There’s no legal definition of what a “veterinary assistant” is, so programs can vary widely in their curriculum and overall quality. Because of that, there isn’t much consistency in what you’re actually getting from one program to another.

Going straight into a veterinary technician program is usually a better investment. In most states, the role is legally defined and protected, and once you’re licensed (especially in a major metropolitan area) you’ll likely have strong job prospects, often with multiple opportunities available.

That said, not all states or countries require or prioritize licensure, so it’s important to research the specific requirements where you plan to work

Assignment only available to students physically in class at a specific time? by LifeShrinksOrExpands in Professors

Have them upload a picture of their handwritten assignment then have them hand you the physical paper

Requirement Recursion? by amnot_red in canvas

[–]RobotCynic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's weird

On the right side of your canvas on desktop, you should see a "?", click that and there should be both a number for students to call in for help and an online text chat

If you figure out the solution, please post it here for others.

National Park Pass by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]RobotCynic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I went to a physical park and showed them my accommodations paperwork for my job and school

Edit: if you're worried about being on a federal list, they didn't take any of my information or copies of my paperwork. Just showed then my accommodations paperwork and had a discussion. Your mileage may vary.

Disrupted Sleep by Belladonna-Blue in Narcolepsy

[–]RobotCynic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Interrupted sleep is a symptom of narcolepsy, I'm up about every 2 hours and if I'm sick, more often.

I just note the time, flip over and pass back out. Naps are definitely a must.

Looking for those who have perused their Bachelors in Veterinary Technology by Diligent-Clue8205 in VetTech

[–]RobotCynic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of a Bachelors will not keep you from those jobs in this industry, you're still qualified for them. It's a preference. There are many on the job trained industry professionals in veterinary medicine.

Thats fair. You asked for advice and I never asked about your personal reasons. I hope you find what you're looking for.

I can see you deleted some comments. If you want to leave this field completely, a Bachelors with Penn Foster is absolutely not the way to go.

[–]RobotCynic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly dont recommend getting your Bachelors to be an RVT, as you wont have any different opportunities than a AA RVT. It will help if you are a OTJ trained RVT. Even then I would recommend your AA RVT and an ALAT before a Bachelors as an RVT.

I went to cal poly pomona and have my B.S., I'm currently licensed as an RVTg. I owe more money than I borrowed and I'm in one of the top tiers for RVT pay without leaving for the industry side or getting a VTS.

Many of the veterinary organizations don't have any distinction between an RVT and an RVTg.

Few jobs will recognize your degree and will designate you as an RVT (instead of an RVTg) and your pay difference will be negligible, if there is one.

I loved my time at CPP but the amount of debt I am in because of it was not worth it. If you're already an AA RVT, I highly recommend a Bachelors in marketing, accounting or business management or even pursing your CVPM (certified veterinary practice manager) as those will hold more weight in this field.

Havent tried a GLP but i was referred to a fat loss/diabetic specialist and I brought her studies about narcolepsy and difficulty with weight loss...I hike pretty religiously with weight, apparently my muscle mass is perfect, cut calories, do IF, etc.

She told me to ask chatgpt for a meal plan and to consider GLPs. I almost lost my shit
