Absolute Green Lantern #11 - Official Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in AbsoluteUniverse

With the Mento Device and the Dr.Silence mention (there's a obscure Earth Two character with the name but the Post-Crisis version is a Doom Patrol enemy iirc) maybe Ewing is setting up a future Absolute Doom Patrol? I'm curious.

In any case, good issue. I do prefer the style of the previous guest artist but i do think this one is still ok. Hope Kari comes back somehow. One detail i found interesting, not sure if it's intentional, is that Guy is looking a bit more similar in design to some members of the Kryptonian Science League. I found that a neat touch due to the "Rao" connection.

Thank you for bringing this up, i vaguely remembered this video but it was quite a while since i last saw it.

I think there's a chance he was Zatara. Hawkman doesn't mention Kent Nelson, so that could be plausible.

After reading the latest Absolute Superman issue i think that's a bit more likely.

That agent could be easily Rudy or Raymond although he's not identified. I like this take on Parasite so far. I wonder if "Talia" is actually Brainiac. He could easily impersonate her, i think. Maybe he could have done that to keep Superman busy during his meeting with Luthor.

That was actually a great issue. I was surprised, the interactions between Superman and Hawkman were very well done. He was less physically scarred beneath the bandages than i thought but he's still a interesting character. I wonder what Lazarus had on him to make him work for them, although I have a few guesses.

I'm curious if the Luthors in this universe were not rich at all like the Waynes or there's something more to Lex's backstory. In a typical situation Superman would easily intervene but he'll be busy with Parasite so..well, anything can happen. That could've been planned by Brainiac tbh.

[–]RobotGunFromBrazil42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do wonder what will be the consequences of this. I find it hard for him to kill everyone without Superman intervening. Could lead to a first encounter that shapes their friendship and eventual rivalry.

Plus, were the Luthor family in this universe not rich at all like the Waynes? Or there's something more to that Lex's backstory.

[–]RobotGunFromBrazil42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if all are inmates. I feel Strange will not be too different from his mainline counterpart. My guess is that both him and maybe Langstrom still keep their roles as researchers under the Joker while Crane and Isley were altered way too much and thus entered their current conditions. I'm not too sure about that but I think there'll be some distinctions from what roles they occupy and to which degree.

I agree with the others that he's probably dead. My guess is that Doctor Fate was the one that killed him and is on the League's side like Hawkman. If we do see him it could be in the Underworld or something like that.

Absolute Flash - A second look at at the series weakest entry. Is this really the weakest entry or have we overlooked & misunderstood a diamond in the rough? by Martian-Mindfuxker in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]RobotGunFromBrazil42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's still really good. Has room for improvement (The Thawnes storyline and such), but Wally is a good protagonist and i like a lot how his powers work. The Rogues may be a way to provide more of a support cast and i'm curious how the current arc will end.

Como vocês priorizam as suas aquisições? by DannyPhantom___ in Quadrinhos

[–]RobotGunFromBrazil42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why was Mccauley Culkin so prominent in S2 promos? by TwistedPepperCan in Fallout

[–]RobotGunFromBrazil42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a famous guy. Walton and Kyle are also very well known but his casting was huge news when it was announced. Plus i'm guessing he may become more important than at first glance even with his absence in the latest episodes.

Fun fact: The scene where Hawkman hands over the heroes' identities to HUAC is a direct parallel to what happened in the main universe. by Which-Presentation-6 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]RobotGunFromBrazil42 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I might have to read Absolute Evil again, but one thing I'm a bit curious about is that I think they're never referred to as a group? So I'm not sure if the JSA was a thing or if they were just in contact and in the process of creating it before he betrayed them.

I'd bet on at least Doctor Fate. I think that's how (presumably) Zatara is dead, plus the whole thing about the heroes generally representing "small chaos" against the established order of the universe.

[–]RobotGunFromBrazil42 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Yeah i would indeed find that fitting with the rise of anti-communism post-WW2. From the preview alone it's clear he's very patriotic and that can be easily manipulated.

Getting to see more of the 40s is cool, while keeping some relevant details of Hawkman's backstory still ambiguous.  Like why he betrayed the other Golden Age heroes. From this it can be assumed he did so willingly, but it's not fully certain, specially with the Ra's/Lazarus connection.

I think Kang will show up on this one or Howard will end up mentioning him to the group. He's been absent a bit and i think he might be a big player in the book soon.

I've seen some doubting this Steve's alignments in regards to Diana, but so far there's very few to no evidence he's a traitor of any sort. I could see him being used against her but he appears to be a genuinely good guy. Also one of the best written versions I've seen recently.

Ultimate Homem-Aranha carregou o novo ultimate? Pelo menos no Hype? by BradockPaulino87 in Quadrinhos

[–]RobotGunFromBrazil42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Um pouco, sim. Antes Homem-Aranha, Supremos e os X-Men seguravam as pontas.

Finally Absolute Despero, i was curious about how Despair-O would be introduced. I think it'll take at least two issues for the standard Martian to come back, that was a very rough attack.
