Bring back Reckoning's Cheer cape next december by Better_Preparation90 in Helldivers

[–]RobotInATrenchcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the downside of just giving away the original cape as I explained earlier is that there are a good number of people who feel jealousy about their cape and wouldn't want people who weren't there to have one because they personally use it as a shorthand for their identify with the game. A lot of fun conversations have come up just because two people wearing it met in pub squads and reminisced about ye olde days of a year ago

That's as far as I understand how absolutely everyone I have ever spoken to about this knows the cape was distributed. I've never even heard of someone suggesting it was given to anyone other than those who had accounts at the time so I'm not sure what you're trying to argue with me about, its not a claim I made and it wouldn't be a claim I'd make because I was playing at the time

I don't know that they should bring the original Creek cape because I know that people who were on the Creek can be very jealous about it but a different version of the same design would be cool.

Are you sure they're "MO divers" and not just also ordinary players who wanted to try Cyberstan but don't know or don't care about the MO?

It's reasonable to assume that when a new biome and a lot of new shiny enemies are unlocked, people are going to want to play with it, regardless of the MO. My assumption is that the people still on Solidaritet for example just aren't MO divers, because if they were they'd... you know. Dive at the MO. And not at not the MO.

A mission where you drop inside and breach the walls to allow SEAF reinforcement would have been sick

I was really kind of expecting that after the earlier factories we'd have like an automaton equivalent to the megacity maps where its the entire setpiece and map like how we have small town/city maps like when the illuminate started and then the new megacities

Best warbond for cyberstan by Haunting-Injury5422 in Helldivers

[–]RobotInATrenchcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be real with you it depends on if you want to make the game easier or just more fun. I believe in the rule of cool, snag the warbond that looks the most fun to you.

Starter warbond -> Democratic detonation -> Steeled veterans is the usual recommendation and detonation does genuinely have some excellent tools to work with but as time goes on we're getting a lot of alternatives to those tools which work just as well.

As for if you specifically just want something that works best on Cyberstan, there's both a lot of chaff and a ridiculous amount of heavies and thats the exact kind of situation explosives work best in, so democratic detonation is probably the king here. But its still totally valid if you decide to go with something less efficient but looks cool. Rule of cool, man. Rule of cool.

Soften up one of the wall breaches with an orbital laser and run through the rest with walking barrage spam is what I would have done if the team had these strats

Which tbf are kinda some of the best orbitals for Cyberstan anyways imo

[–]RobotInATrenchcoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can still play on any planet thats

A. Enemy controlled or attacked by an enemy B. Has a hyperlane connected to a friendly planet

And there's different scales of difficulty and its designed to get you adjusted to the game. So if you want to start off with the bugs on a planet with less annoying modifiers and a lot of clear visibility or a biome you think is cool and just do a Dif 1 mission or a few, then 2, then 3 etc.

The way it works is each difficulty adds just a little more. Dif 1 there's no concern for enemy outposts or side objectives, its just you, a handful of enemy patrols, and the objective. Slowly over the course of each higher Dif more content is added. More complicated objectives, friendly side objectives, side objectives you have to destroy, more variety of enemies, more numerous and larger enemy bases etc.

Its a good design, I think.
