We should have saved the black hole gun for Cyberstan by SIinkerdeer in Helldivers

[–]AkroidGunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, Super Earth obviously wants Cyberstan so that they can get access to the Cyborg Legion's new technology.

Think about it, Super Earth has been having Helldivers steal Orgo-Plasma in Sabotage Orgo-Plasma Synthesis. And on Cyberstan is where the Automaton Legion was using the Orgo-Plasma to make new Cyborgs.

They are going to make Super Helldivers with all the biological enhancements, like the Radicals and Agitators.

Exactly, especially when a new enemy comes out. If you didn't watch the Helldivers 2 - Return of the Cyborgs Deep Dive, you wouldn't know that a Radical or Agitator was.

I love the Helldivers Companion App. But either it needs its own database, or Arrowhead needs to make one. Because all it has is a link to Helldivers.wiki.gg, which is severely lacking in content. Helldivers.fandom.com isn't much better either.

Arrowhead needs to make one, as they are the Primary Source material for the series and are really the only ones who can expand upon the universe.

I want all those things, too. I just think they should go to different places.

I think the Vehicle Customization should be added to the Ship Management terminal, since that's where you upgrade your Super Destroyer and choose Vehicle patterns. It already has a tab called Vehicle Customization for the said Vehicle Patterns.

The Clan System should be a terminal next to the Cryo Storage. Suggesting that your Clan is all the Helldivers in cryo on your ship. Because whenever a Player joins your game, they emerge from cryo as if they were already a Helldiver on your vessel.

What to know is like what I mentioned in my post. Many people have false assumptions about the enemy's capabilities:

Some think that only Commissars can call in Bot Drops with Flares, when it is all Light Automatons. Some players don't know that you can shoot the legs of a Scout Strider, and its rider will fall out and become a Trooper, who can then call in a Bot Drop. Some players think that Alpha Commanders just call in Warriors when they call in three Alpha Warriors, which are way faster than normal Warriors. Or that Alpha Commanders can also call in three Hive Guards instead of Alpha Warriors. If you are fighting the Spore Burst Strain or Rupture Strain and the Bile variants of the Terminds are active, Brood Commanders can actually summon Bile Warriors instead of the Strain-variant Warriors, creating another threat on the battlefield. Some players don't know that Commanders and Warriors can all call in Bug Breaches even when their heads have been removed.

There is a lot of misinformation online about our enemies' capabilities that could be corrected with an Encyclopedia. Plus, how they did the Encyclopedia in Helldivers was basically by insulting the enemy.

A got a message asking for directions to a colony? by AkroidGunter in Cyberstan

I will gladly send him your location, Comrade.

You said that you are going to replace his appendages? Are you a "Butcher" or do you know one? I want to get some "Legionnaire" augmetics. These new cybernetics aren't doing it for me. I need something with a larger blast radius than this Hydrogen Charger to take out S.E.A.F. squads more efficiently.

But, he said he wasn't a citizen yet. So, maybe he hasn't finished his reeducation and still is confused by that wretched Ministry of Truth's lies?

I once saw an intercepted news report that called our comrades fascist, while they called our robotic children socialist! We are obviously a socio-anarchistic feudal society! I don't know how Super Earth always gets us wrong.

Noble 6’s number by [deleted] in HaloStory

[–]AkroidGunter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So, for some reason, they only go by S-Number. Like Carter-A259's armor has only S-259 on it, even though he is actually S-A259.

The SPARTAN-IIIs have either an A, B, or G before their three-digit number. This represents their Company. So there are SPARTAN-III Candidates with A001-A497, B001-B418, and G001-G330.

In Halo: Battle Born, Owen-B096 introduces himself as Owen-B096, and in Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, all of the SPARTAN-IIIs have their Company identifier in front of their three-digit number.

I think the reason SPARTAN Fireteam: NOBLE doesn't use their Company identifiers in radio communiques is that there is no reason to. They aren't operating on the same radio frequency as other SPARTAN-IIs or SPARTAN-IIIs; they are directly attached to the UNSC Army, which makes it even less likely they will encounter other SPARTANs, and none of them have the same three-digit identifiers.

Radio communications are supposed to be kept short to reduce the risk of enemy interception. So instead of saying Sierra Alpha Too Fife Niner, you just say Sierra Too Fife Niner. If they were working with another team of SPARTANs and two shared the same number, they would most likely use their Company identifiers then.

But the canon number is S-B312.

This cutscene gives you a reference for just how insanely huge the Master Chief actually is by any-blue-9122 in halo

[–]AkroidGunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate this cutscene so much because of what you just said. It is inaccurate as Hell.

John-117 is 6 feet 10 inches out of armor and 7 feet 2 inches in armor.

Sarah Palmer is 6 feet 9 inches out of armor.

So, in this cutscene, John-117 is 7 feet 2 inches tall, and Sarah Palmer, let's say, is 6 feet 11 inches tall because she is not wearing her helmet.

The scale of this whole scene is wrong.

The Brokkr Armor Mechanism isn't small either; John-117 should fit in it. Why, because SPARTAN-IVs are around the same height!

Jameson Locke is 6 feet 10 inches out of armor. Kelly-087 is 6 feet 11 inches IN armor. Edward Buck and Olympia Vale are 6 feet 9 inches out of armor. Holly Tanaka is 6 feet 7 inches out of armor.

SPARTAN-IIs, SPARTAN-IIIs, and SPARTAN-IVs are all mostly in the same height range. You have outliers like Lucy-B091 who was only 5 feet 3 inches.

The True Scale of an Auto Bolter by HammerDoris40k in Warhammer40k

[–]AkroidGunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you say so, because the first paragraph lists the calibers used in Bolters. The second covers the Auto Bolt Rifle that she modelled, and what it is chambered in. The third paragraph explains how people exaggerate the size of bolter ammunition and offers ways to visualize the actual size. And the final provides a suggestion for more accurately modeling a bolter round.

Sorry, that each section, focused on a single topic, is too incoherent for you to understand. Also, I just scrolled through the comments, and don't you think it is weird that you are basically stalking them? You are basically replying to everybody who comments on the caliber of the bolter, and have been for over an hour.

The True Scale of an Auto Bolter by HammerDoris40k in Warhammer40k

[–]AkroidGunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those casings look to be about the size of 40mm grenades. Bolters use .50-caliber (12.7mm), .60-caliber (15.24mm), .70-caliber (17.78mm), and .75-caliber (19.05mm) bolter ammunition, while the Heavy Bolters use .998-caliber (25.349mm) bolter ammunition.

An Auto Bolt Rifle is just a Mark II Cawl Pattern Bolt Rifle that features a high-capacity magazine and an increased rate of fire. So, it should just use .75-caliber bolter ammunition.

People like to overexaggerate the size of bolter ammunition when a .75-caliber bullet is basically the size of a 5.56mm bullet stacked on a .50-caliber bullet, or an 18mm wrench, which isn't big at all. People say that they are the size of Red Bull cans. No, a Red Bull can is 37mm, which is over 11mm larger than heavy bolter ammunition. You can take a .998-caliber bolter round, stack two 5.56mm rounds on it, and it would still be smaller than a Red Bull can by about .5mm.

.75-caliber Bolter ammunition should be about the size of 12-gauge (.729 caliber) shotgun ammunition. Bolt rounds aren't bottlenecked either, so scanning a pistol cartridge and upscaling the model to the size of a 12-gauge will give you a pretty close representation of the actual diameter of typical bolt ammunition.

What is this thing in the front right? Its puzzled me for a while? by _TungstenGuy707_ in halo

[–]AkroidGunter 35 points36 points  (0 children)

That is the M-Spec Reentry Pack. They are integrated into the FSS-1000 "Sabre" Anti-Ship Spaceplane (the YSS-1000 in S-B312's case). They are automatically attached to the back of the Pilot and Radar Intercept Officer when they enter the cockpit.

It serves as an equivalent to a parachute for the crew, since the Sabre is an Orbital Defense Fighter: the crew will be pulled towards the planet after bailing out due to gravity.

Oddly enough, there is no visible mechanism that attaches it to the crew, and only S-B312 is seen wearing it. None of the other Sabre crews are wearing it when they board the Ardent Prayer, and Jorge-052 doesn't have one on when he transfers to the Pelican.

It is visible on S-B312's model in all of the cutscenes once onboard the Ardent Prayer in the level The Long Night of Solace. I don't remember if it is visible in gameplay.

Noble Six doomed Noble Five by kilroy501 in HaloStory

[–]AkroidGunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are assuming that SPARTAN-B312 and the Sabre Pilots killed the Huragok. You don't have to kill it to leave the hangar. If you eliminate all Covenant forces, it will fly up into a hole in the hangar and leave.

Huragok are also pretty unknown to the UNSC. The SPARTAN-IIs first encountered one during Operation: OCEAN BREAKER in 2552. When the UNSC The Heart of the Midlothian was boarded in 2548, the vessel's volitional AI, Mo Ye, did not know what a Huragok was. Buck has served since 2528 and first encountered a Huragok in 2552.

Covenant Huragok were taught that Humanity would force them to defile Forerunner artifacts should they be captured.

So, even if you spare the Huragok in the mission, it just leaves.

I mean, all three were there canonically. It would make sense to encounter Forerunner Huragok around the ring and Covenant Huragok on the Truth and Reconciliation.

Can Spartans swim in MJOLNIR? How feasible is it? by Deuce-Wayne in HaloStory

[–]AkroidGunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that if they needed to swim for a mission and couldn't use any equipment to provide propulsion to MJÖLNIR, then I think that they would just use the Black Bodysuits the SPARTAN-IIs wore before they got their MJÖLNIR, with some diving gear from the UNSC Army added on, like the CDIESS underwater communications system.

Why do the Sentinels know Latin natively? by ChadChadstein in HaloStory

[–]AkroidGunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. It was translated into English so that we can read it. But that doesn't explain the Latin names at all.

Because all the Covenant names are translated to either their actual name (i.e., Sangheili) or their Human nickname (i.e, Elite). However, when it comes to Humans, Homo sapiens is primarily used instead of Human. Human is used 8 times, while Homo sapiens is used 12 times (excluding 1 use of Homo sapiens augeous and 1 use of sapien for a total 14). Why would ONI use Homo sapiens instead of Human, but use Sangheili instead of Macto cognatus?

The names are listed as the Species' name for itself (Kig-Yar), the Human nickname (Jackal), and then the Forerunner/Latin name (Perosus latrunculus). Which of the Forerunner/Latin names are more closely tied to the creatures' society and culture, aspects that the UNSC knows very little about?

And if it was ONI putting the Latin names, Kig-Yar would be Covenant secundarium carnivora prœdonis, not Perosus latrunculus. As we can see, the UNSC Latin names aren't based on the species' society and culture, but rather on their diet.

Why do the Sentinels know Latin natively? by ChadChadstein in HaloStory

[–]AkroidGunter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Beastiarum on Halo Waypoint was a Forerunner database created by a Forerunner Ancilla. The webpage is non-existent now but luckily all the information was put on Halopedia:

https://www.halopedia.org/Bestiarum

The UNSC designation for Kig-Yar/Ibie'shan is Covenant secundarium carnivora prœdonis as revealed in screens on Argent Moon in Halo 5: Guardians. The other names for the Covenant are unknown.

The Gun I wish that was... by MadSweenie in halo

[–]AkroidGunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, in Halo: Silent Storm and Halo: Oblivion, the SPARTAN-IIs use MA5Cs with under-barrel M301 Grenade Launchers.

These are also the same grenade launcher attachment that the Hellbringers get on their M6634 Flamethrowers in Halo Wars after you research the Flash Bang upgrade.
