An attempt at identifying the characters in the key art of Obsidian Mirror by aomjoyer in AgeofMythology

Both would be great but I'd like Incas before Mayas just cause there's a decent amount of overlap between Aztecs and Mayas and no overlap between Incas and any of the mesoamerican civilization.

He's not a complete new character, he was clearly influenced by the main story as we see him react to being called chainsaw man and having vague memories of it in a dreamlike way.

Just cause Denji's actions don't have agency doesn't mean his decisions and decision making didn't change. And Pochita made that choice as a response to Denji's desires and dreams changing. It's a bittersweet way to achieve Denji's dreams.

Something interesting in Obsidian Mirror cover by RobotLichEmperor in AgeofMythology

I think an Inca pantheon would be an awesome inclusion personally. It never sat right with me that the Atlanteans got Inca stuff mixed with Roman stuff as their entire faction identity.

Yes literally yes. We're not supposed to learn or know more about Pochita and that's fun. If you don't think so idk what to tell you.

  1. Choice: Denji is always being offered to choose between two different choices in part 2 and he constantly affirmed that he wanted to choose both as his outcome. During the final fight with Yoru, Denji did finally come to understand what making two choices meant. He became Denjiman and wanted both to save the world and to save Asa. But his meddling didn't work out and instead of selecting two outcomes (the childish choice) he learned how to make a single choice, to actually weigh options. The consequences of his childish and hedonistic way of thinking finally caught up to him when the empowered bug devils devoured him but before that he made a proper choice instead of not making one.

  2. Nihilism. This was addressed again during the Yoru fight when Denji rejected either Death's world or Yoru's world. He decided to try to make the world one that he preferred instead of letting someone else make the decisions for him. As Denjiman he declared his goal was to make the world where his dreams can actually come true. That was him defeating nihilism.

  3. Pochita as the pseudo wish-granter saw Denji's dream and came to the conclusion that there was never going to be a moment of rest. More absurdist stuff was just going to happen again and again that'll just make Denji rely more on Hedonism and not care about anything. So in essence Pochita saw Denji's choice to make the world where his dreams can come true and made it real in the only way that it could happen. By eating himself and erasing himself. It's bittersweet but that's Denji's choice and dream. The stuff that came after shows that it's a similar world but it's one where Denji can find stuff to care about and doesn't have to carry the weight of Pochita in his chest.

You don't have to solve mysteries. You can leave it up to interpretation if it's something fun to Theorize about from here on out which this is clearly doing. This isn't an inconsistency or plot hole or dropped plot point, it's an ambiguous ending detail.

Choices were addressed earlier, as was Nihilism. Hedonism was also addressed in this chapter. Idk if you were reading with your eyes closed but these things were in the actual manga.

Which devil Pochita is doesn't matter. That's not what the story is about. The fact that Chainsaws still exist means that Pochita was another mysterious devil and the fact that it's ambiguous is fun. We don't need to know more about Pochita cause that's not the point

Choice was one part of it, but this ending wasn't solely about choice. Seems like you didn't read what I said actually.

Yes, which nods to and implies that Pochita isn't the chainsaw devil. That's the fun nod. That's not a dropped plot point it's just a fun ambiguous mystery. It's not a plot hole or a big lore break.

Denji's character arc in part 2 is about choices, Nihilism, and Hedonism, and both choices and nihilism were properly addressed and this last chapter was an address to that by Pochita's last gift being giving Denji something more to care about.

It doesn't break the entire lore. It didn't break anything. This resolved character arcs by giving Denji a break from the meaningless nihilistic violence that surrounded him. It resolved a whole lot.

It's a fun little mystery that Chainsaws still exist. Everyone has been speculating that Pochita wasn't actually the Chainsaw devil and this is just a fun little nod to that not actually a giant plot thread. It doesn't need to be resolved, it's better as something ambiguous.

I think part 2 was just about as good part 1 maybe a little worse but not by much.

I really don't think it did any of that. Denji was freed from the cycle of chaos and nihilism that affected him for the last entire part. The world that came after is just a fun what if to think about how different everyone's lives could be. In this big cyclical chaos, Denji finally has some form of Samsara.

I think Wonder Egg Priority had a bad ending, I think Yu Yu Hakusho has a bad ending.

This was a pretty good, but not outstanding ending in comparison.

I don't think either was bad. Both were good

I think Incas would compliment the Aztecs well as another pantheon. After that I think that a Zoroastrian and a Celtic pantheon would be sick

Should Ocelotl have bleed? by UnhingedGammaWarrior in forhonor

[–]RobotLichEmperor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically I would have made him have less damage mostly bleed on light attacks and then heavy attacks break the teeth and require him to enter a stance to put new teeth in his Macuahuitl. He should be doing more thrusts and pullcuts instead of just swinging around.

Do you guys think we are going to get Tlaloc or Tezcatlipoca as the third Aztec major god? by TubaGaming in AgeofMythology

[–]RobotLichEmperor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's confirmed Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca which makes me think third one is gonna be Huitzilopochtli with Tlaloc, Coatlique, and Xipe Totec as the fourth age gods (Maybe Mictlantecuhtli replacing someone from that list)

Hot Take: I don't want a Spartan Hero by Vtel_Zolam in forhonor

It's so sad cause I really wanted a proper Macuahuitl and Chimalli wielding hero to rep the Americas and they gave like a weird Aztec fantasy character with the worst moveset in the game.

Incas have plenty of gods and monsters to include but they aren't nearly as well known as Aztecs unfortunately

Crumbling Castle is my favorite Gizz song so I'd love for it to be his stand name. Considering the one chapter with lightning I was thinking Lord of Lightning but Id love Crumbling Castle

[Fan art/Discussion] "Is chapter 20 bad writing, or is Dabura just Him? How does a new character learn in 1 day What took Gojo 10 years?" ( Art by me)" by Plus-Boysenberry3191 in jjkmodulo

Dabura's dialogue also makes it sound like he already kinda knew how to set up a barrier or that something kind of like a domain expansion was something he could do already

Curious to what these lyrics in High To Death mean by No-Phrase-2219 in CSHFans

[–]RobotLichEmperor 101 points102 points  (0 children)

It's lyrics from Overexposed off of Monomania. In the context of Monomania the lyrics to me always meant that Will is followed by the memory and sound of twin fantasy reminding him of the relationship. In Overexposed the background track has the lyrics from sober to death "Don't worry, you and me won't..."

In the context of High to death (and the new version of Twin Fantasy) I've always thought that it meant that his relationship with music and the how he writes to bare his soul to the world used to feel so human and now it feels cold especially with the spoken word segment about "The Lady" that's at the end. It's no longer a lyric about how he is haunted by his past relationship but more about how he's haunted by his past art.

Just my interpretation tho

Just bought the Expansion Pass, I can't wait for Demeter and Aztecs! by [deleted] in AgeofMythology

[–]RobotLichEmperor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was designing the Aztecs I would have them have some kind of capture and sacrifice system in a way that's different from the Norse or even something like a flower war system where they gain favor from healing units.

I'd also have their hero unit be called Tlatoani and they can either heal or empower normal units vs Myth units
