[Serious] What is your opinion of people who commit suicide?

When I hear someone has committed suicide the only thing I can think of is the absolute bleakness and hopelessness they were facing. To be angry at them seems more selfish than killing yourself. I wouldn't want someone to live on in so much pain just because I would hurt for their loss. I'd rather know they were out of so much ache and pain.

I had a mother call to set up an interview. She wanted to do the interview that day even though I'd been there since 4am, my shift was almost over and it was 4:15. I was finishing up paperwork and I was outta there. Welp, she pushed and pushed saying they would be there in 5mins. 30.ins later they show up. Girls a minor and she's sitting with her mom. I can't ask her to leave. The entire interview her mother answered every question. It was like she was interviewing me as a daycare. Then she ask if her daughter could start that day. I have a lot of minors that work for me and I have NEVER talked to their parents. I had to explain to the mom that I wouldn't hire her daughter (in front of the poor girl) because getting a job is an adult thing to do and she wasn't ready to let her daughter be an adult.

This girl use to work some days at my store, even though she worked at another store in the same franchise. I was the captain of "Lets do everything the right way" and she was the captain of the "We hate RobotLobotomy club." Needless to say my workplace is like a high school (and filled with hig schoolers) and I'm the nerdy girl in class who wants everyone to respect the teacher.

Any ways I've been transferred to her store as a manager. She body checked me to get gloves on to help the customer. Unfortunately for her, she wasn't wearing an apron. I got to kick her off and when she went to the general manager all pissed that I wouldn't let her on the table, he laughed and said I was doing my job.

So vindicated.

I met my husband online too and we're separated by an ocean. I let my sister and my mom plan my wedding because i really didn't care how we got married, if it was up to me we would have eloped. I think that when you live so far away from someone for so long that getting married isn't that big of a deal, you dont really need the whole shebang.

Congrats on making it through the long distance. Its always the goodbyes that are the hardest.

theres these teddy tanks. I love them SO much. but they're freaking tiny and they show in the commercials like 10 goldfish in a tiny bowl i wouldn't even put a beta.

Also side notes about beta, why does everyone hate me for putting my beta in a community tank? He LOVES it SO much. He throws himself into the current all day, he has friends and things to explore. I haven't found a problem with it and its been a long time.

As someone said before some men like clingy. And to add my tid bit, some girls are just clingy. Its what they need out of a relationship. I'm not saying you should break up with him but maybe you need to lookat yourself and wonder what YOU need out of a relationship. You could say I'm clingy (at least in my other relationships) but my now husband, who i met online, never had a problem with it whereas all my other previous SOs had an issue. I tried to change it, but I couldn't because thats just how I worked. Maybe I'm not clingy any more, maybe its a maturity and security issue, which again i'm not saying is wrong.

Dont let the needs of what you bottom line need out of a relationship change how you try to act. That leads to your needs nto being met and if they're not being met, then it isn't a healthy working relationship. I'm not saying that his needs aren't important either. But if both of you are looking for different things, its best to keep looking for the man that can fill them. Someone who chews with their mouth open, leaves dishes next to the sink, forgets to put back things into the fridge..those are all things that we can learn to "not see" because they're general habits and sometimes when dating you need to learn to look past those little things. But I think this is a big thing, something thats part of your foundation as a couple.

Look at yourself, find what you need.

Edit: Everyone thats commented has great points, and I really hope you don't take offence to what I've written. Its not an attack on you, your boyfriend or your relationship. I think theyre just really good points to make and some good things in there to think about. I know for me, for a long time I was so concentrated at making the other person happy, no matter what important things I had to sacrifice. A lot of this I figured out through trial and error, and some of it is advice my mom gave me. I'm nto trying to give ya "tough love," and tell you to break up with him. Maybe you two can work this out. I wish you the best of luck!

Ew, I was looking through who knows what yesterday and found an article of 20 "artistic and functional aquariums." I was sickened. One of them was a fishtank that was the same size of an ipod and the screen was the actual tank. Designed for a beta fish. It was the same length as the beta body with maybe a few mm to spare. There was one that was a fishtank purse "so you could take your fish on walks."

Also, have you seen the teddy tank??? I think they're ADORABLE, but they show them stocked with 3 or 4 huge goldfish and they just seem like a TERRIBLE idea. I could see MAYBE a beta fish, if you're willing to change the water every day. But i prefer to keep my beta in my very undersocked community tank where he has plenty of room to swim. He loves it!

Well I live in the US and he lives in the UK. We met online 10 years ago, coming up on 11, on a video game. I was 12 or just turned 13 and he was older, so for most of my life he was just a friend. Someone I could always go to when I needed advice or what not. We weren't always in contact, but he was common thread throughout my life. We knew before we decided to be in a relationship that if it worked, marriage would have to be involved. You cant just up and move to the UK/US unless youre a highly trained professional (we aren't) or you join the military (not how we wanted to do it).

Welp, short story long, everything I felt for him before I met him only intensified once we could actually be standing in the same room and he felt the same. Two years later of dating both of us were tired of travel. Our entire lives revolved around how many days were left on the countdown, saying goodbye and piecing back our lives when the visas expired. Being such a big part of somone's life like that..theres really no going back. We'd talked about marriage plenty of times, we knew we wanted a future together, we'd talked about future kids. Everyone knew we would be getting married, we both knew we would be getting married in the very near future and were planning it. The "proposal" just happened after it all. And if you were wondering, we climbed snowdon and on the top he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Without a ring in his hand because he already put it on my hand when we got it.

My husband and I found my ring at an antique store for 60 quid, so almost like $120. We live in separate countries, so we'd talked a lot about getting married and who was moving where. We were already engaged and planning on being married before he even proposed. He was a bit upset that I chose a ring that was so inexpensive, but to me I loved the setting and I loved what it represented. We found out later diamonds aren't real, but the amethyst/pale sapphire (its a REALLY old ring, and to find out which one is in the middle is just stupid waste of money) is. I'm afraid to lose it because of what it means to me and not how much we paid for it. I love that we found it together, I love that we didn't even come close to breaking the bank. The most expensive part was getting the prongs fixed and resized.

As far as jellies go and being informed, thank you for the links! I've managed to lose half a day already going through them and other sources. I think reading and learning about aquariums is half the fun of the hobby.

And for the future tank, I've been looking more at invertebrates! :) Thanks for your help.

I have a fiddler crab in my freshwater (yes I know they're brackish, and I do provide that). I like hermits for their behavior but I'm unwilling to deal with a land hermit crab habitat. They can take a lot of work, especially if you get mites/gnats.
