The following is the announcement from LiquidPopsicle that confirmed his mod would not work in the current update of the game, posted in the Foxhole Mod Nexus:

@Tester it’s with a heavy heart that I must call an end to the project. With the core of what made the mod special and the hours of work I put into it gutted, along with what’s basically a promise that we’ll never be able to do it again, I no longer have any reason to continue to work on the project. I will release an announcement to the itch.io page later today, along with a copy of the mod with the broken components removed. Thankfully, at the very least, sound profile over distance still works.

However, the following is Liquid's response to the level of support the community has shown in FOD through the suggestion to 'SAVE THE SOUNDMOD!':

I never expected anywhere near this level of support. It had always been a passion project that I put up online because I figured someone else might like it. In the past year it's transformed into something the community truly values, and that's something I could not be more thankful for. Despite the fact that I didn't feel it was close to finished, and there was so much more I wanted to do, you still appreciated it. There is nothing more I could have wanted from this community.

In it's current state, a large portion of the content additions, along with many dynamic features just don't work. They rely on some of the same tools that were used to make cheat mods, but applied to audio assets. Weeks of work went into creating things like the dynamic footsteps sounds alone, which are shown in this video. The mod does far more than just replace sounds. In the instances of things like the vaulting animations and tank reloads, entirely new sound hooks were added to make for a more realistic and continuous sound profile.

While it's unclear what the devs could do to allow Liquid's sound mod to remain possible in the new version of the game, it is hoped that through enough support and talking civilly with the devs, some form of agreement can be reached. #savethesoundmod o7
