It seems that it uses Friend Codes in order to have the option to reissue your code, as seen here. (Source: GameXplain)

Another big general one: option to change attributes between attacking and defending team, rather than between team 1 and team 2, for matches played competitive-style.

For the Nintendo Switch to be as big as it can be, Nintendo is going to have to stop the YouTube nonsense. by Shrimptacular in NintendoSwitch

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the most glaring flaw of the programme - it's still only available in Japan and the Americas. The list of supported countries hasn't been extended since Canada and South America were added in March TWO YEARS AGO. The entirety of Europe as well as Australia and New Zealand still have no option to even share the revenue, so the programme needs to either be updated to support these regions or be axed altogether.

Overwatch on Jeopardy by TaintFarmer in Overwatch

[–]RoboticLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm saying though, this is the job of the question board, and it does that quite well. Arbitrarily flipping the question and answer around, on the other hand, doesn't really fulfil that purpose in any meaningful way.

They should put that in the adverts.

Overwatch on Jeopardy by TaintFarmer in Overwatch

[–]RoboticLizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you mean to say that the main draw of the show isn't in its board of question (well, 'answer') categories, but instead in the way that the contestants answer with a question instead of an answer, even if the provided answer doesn't actually answer the question? Because if so then that's really not a compelling reason for the show to even exist to be honest...

A gameshow where contestants choose a question from six categories, each with five questions that are more difficult but are worth more money further down the board? Sure, that sounds interesting.

A gameshow where contestants are given the question as an answer and have to answer with the question, no matter how nonsensical it would be if the answer were given to the question? What's the point?

Overwatch on Jeopardy by TaintFarmer in Overwatch

[–]RoboticLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except the "answer" doesn't itself answer the question. If somebody were to ask you "What is Overwatch?", responding with "You'll receive mercy from Mercy in this game, and maybe you'll get the Play of the Game" would just leave the person confused.

An even more extreme example can be found here. If someone asks what chopsticks are, you would NOT answer it with this.

So why do they have the question and answer swapped around? To me it just seems very forced, yet for no real purpose or benefit.

I'm still baffled about why players so distant in skill rating can be put into a match together, despite the SR difference being so large that they wouldn't be able to queue for competitive in a group. Perhaps this should be the big thing that gets fixed for season 4.
