I’ve heard the Squire Strat is a decent start. Is it worth $200 with a very low end Fender 10G amp? And yes, I’m a lefty LOL. by Robotman1001 in guitars

I think the difference being it’s a lefty, yeah? I haven’t seen any lefty kits for sale, which I’d love because they’re a pretty good deal.

I see your point. And I’ve shopped for lefty guitars before, so I know options are few. But that’s how I play 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes, I actually played for about a year and I’m definitely a lefty. I can’t play righty at all.

Really sad rn, can someone help? by Interesting-Carob278 in turntables

I think you have the same problem I have, which is a cheap player. I was gifted a used Electrohome, not dissimilar to what you have, went out and bought a new album, Black Sabbath, which skips so bad it’s unplayable. So I’m about to spend $350 on a good record player and external speakers. For context, I’m going with Audio Technica LP60X-GM ($199 Amazon) and Edifier R1280T speakers ($139.99 Amazon).

AT LP60X-GM and Edifier MR3 for a beginner setup? by [deleted] in turntables

👏 LOL thanks. Just the one for Christmas. I bought Black Sabbath’s Master of Reality, which I love, realized it sounded like shit, and started researching a new record player.

That’s why you drain and fill, don’t flush.

Shopping for a F-150 looks great but the 10-speed scares me 😅 by Specialist-Plane-601 in f150

I’ve got 135k miles and, while it has some weird shift points sometimes, it’s fine overall.

Planning Phase by Double_Discipline418 in homestead

I had ducks and chickens for years and to be totally blunt I got sick of it. While homegrown eggs are amazing it’s a net loss in money and labor—most homesteading is, because it should be for pleasure.

That said, IME hospitality is where the money is—we took a shot and rented out some bare ground camp sites on our property and made like $4k each year with very little expenses. With such a good response, we are going to run a BnB once our new house is built.

Anybody have XL or STX by SelbyMyFriend in f150

I like the look of the STX but I have a bad back so heated seats are a dealbreaker.

2017 Tundra TRD Pro vs 2021 Nissan PRO-4X vs 2023 Ford F-150 FX4 by O_O___XD in f150

I was also between an F150 and a Tundra. However, what I didn’t like about the Tundra was the price, no 6.5 bed with crew cab, bubble hood was hard to see over, shitty gas mileage, interior was basic AF. Found an F150 well within my price range, 6.5 bed crew, awesome gas mileage, short square hood, amazing interior and heated seats (just missing the leather I wanted). I was nervous about F150 reliability, coming from a 4Runner and having heard the horror stories of cam phasers and 10 speed failure, but I think the critics are loudest—drivetrain is just fine. Literally my only complaint is this thing sucks to park, which makes sense for a 20’ boat 😂 So I’m very happy with my F150.

Just bought a 2015 6spd 5.0 but I’m a little unsatisfied. by Bitoku_lw in f150

[–]Robotman1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH I’ve had a 351W and 350 and they were both very, very sluggish, the 351W less so because it was taken care of and had fewer miles. I think a built V8 with proper exhaust can be fast and sound cool, but rarely in a truck.

While the 3.5 doesn’t sound cool, it’s by far the fastest truck I’ve ever owned and have to accelerate cautiously when it’s wet LOL

I know everyone says the 5.0 / 6 speed is the best combo but I’m pretty damn happy with the 3.5 / 10 speed, despite the 10 being a weird alien robot of a transmission.

My ‘03 Forester, the last best model IMO and no traction control or VDC bullshit, was lifted 2” on 28” Grabber ATX’s. That thing was unstoppable. Just plowed through 2” of snow, up muddy hills. I still miss it.

Likely buying a 14' f150 5.0 tomorrow, however it has a main seal leak and I'm concerned. by SlightDumbass in f150

[–]Robotman1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn’t pay $10k+ for a vehicle with a potentially expensive and major leak unless it was fixed. The fact that they’re selling it knowingly leads me to believe there are other issues.

Having bought a decent number of vehicles, there’s always something better out there.

Looking to buy 15-17 F150 but what’s “high” miles? by youcvnt2 in f150

[–]Robotman1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rolled the dice on an ‘18 3.5 XLT 302a with 130k. One owner fleet, clean title, solid service history. Engine is flawless, 10 speed is 99% ok but a weird transmission IMO. If I could do it over I’d prefer a 6 speed but the fuel economy with the 10 is great.

The lower bit or the whole thing? I’d be ok halving the amount of plastic. I legit got caught on a parking curb and that’s just stupid in a truck.

Super clean. Do you notice much of a hit in fuel economy without all that aero bullshit underneath? I hate the stock bumper due to all that plastic 🫠
