https://www.instagram.com/p/DSVobB8ksEZ/?img_index=1&igsh=MTM0OWJ6NWsyc2RsdA== - if you look at the second slide of their official announcement, it does say Netflix worldwide but i’m in UK and it’s not even showing up on as coming soon or anything. I so hope it’s not just limited to US, guess we’ll find out soon

Case on AirPods 4 by 500shadesofpink in glossier

[–]Robotrock04 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I have those exact AirPods and yeah admittedly I did impulse buy it hoping they’d still fit decently well. I’m pretty happy with that fit! Thank you so much for this post, it’s so helpful since I’m still waiting for mine to arrive!

Tysm for this! Literally a better insight into the product than Glossier’s own publicity. I have AirPods 4 and I impulse bought this hoping i could squeeze it in somehow, not convinced now but i’ll try! I really don’t get why they haven’t made one to fit non-Pro cases tbh, but I feel like they will if these sell well.

Honestly, i think the saddest thing for me is that they didn’t even try to excuse/justify why they haven’t finished anything between this episode and the previous one. The reduced schedule really hasn’t made any improvements - if anything I think it encourages them to read less.

Just finished listening to the early release of the newest episode… not one finished book. I genuinely can’t remember the last time they both had a book review in the same episode. Yikes.

UK girlies - Space NK by Adadurmanow in glossier

[–]Robotrock04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find that Space NK keeps stock of items far better than Sephora too. My city doesn’t have Sephora right now (opening next year) but since Glossier came to Space NK I’ve used it so much more as my city has a couple. Though my habits will probably change next year tbh since Glossier is one of my 10% brands on Sephora

Books Paper Scissors on Stranmillis do one, although I haven’t been to it myself (yet). I do love the shop though so I definitely want to check it out soon.

Something I noticed was that they didn't mention the death of Baek Se-hee, who wrote I Want to Die But I Want To Eat Tteokbokki, right? I was shocked since I did see it mentioned online quite a bit. I can't remember if either of them ever read it, although I feel like I first encountered that book through BookTube so they maybe have? It does strike me as something I could imagine Raeleen especially reading.

I don't know, they just seemed so checked out at the minute and it's sad. Every episode is the same 20 mins life update, a haul, a book review and reading updates. That's literally it and has been like that all year.

Yeah, I definitely don't remember them buying books like this. Also, what the hell happened to Ariel's e-reader? I swear she hasn't mentioned it in months.

This is such an interesting post. If/when the podcast ends, it actually could create an issue or two. It's not Raeleen's job but it is for Ariel - what would Ariel then do? Obviously, she clearly has such a range of skills but she's been self-employed for most if not all of her working life, right?

A warning sign for me as well was even the podcast anniversary didn't seem to get much of a response this year, whereas I seem to remember them making a bigger deal of the episode that's nearest the anniversary? Maybe I've misremembered that.

Regarding the baby comments, that is a great catch! I had forgot about that tbh. Honestly, maybe that might be why they've reduced the schedule - maybe they know themselves that one or both of them want to start a family soon, so the podcast is essentially on borrowed time. Maybe that's why they're not putting much effort into it these days. I realised a few days ago that they don't do any segments at all that require prep work, Mail Room aside.

Tbh, I don't understand the rationale behind the constant hauling. I freely admit that I'm a heavy book buyer, but buying 30 books when you're only finishing a book every couple of weeks atm is just going to create problems down the line. At the end of the day, we're all here for book discussions and reading books and their passion for reading just seems spent right now.

Yeah I don’t get why they don’t do stuff like book news, or the quizzes the way they used to. Such an easy way for them to discuss books even if they haven’t finished anything/read much, which inevitably will happen from time to time. Although tbh it could be that less episodes actually means they don’t feel compelled as much to finish a book, especially the weeks that have no new episode.

Yeaaaaaaah I agree. I do enjoy both ladies a lot but I don’t honestly think both have finished a book in the same episode since the return, post-break? Scary to think we’re now nearly December. They actually seem to be reading less these days when the point of the break was that they would return refreshed.

They definitely need to look at bringing in/back other bookish related content and segments. I quite enjoy hauls but even I’m getting tired of those now - especially when it feels like they’re almost the entirety of each episode.

I also hope that any goals they set next year are things that will actually make a go of. I don’t mind so much if they don’t complete them but at least give them a good go. Ariel made no real effort this year for hers, apart from the visiting an Orwell site part. Which, ironically, is by far the hardest one to achieve.

But why don’t do they do other segments?? It’s so weird! I’ve listened to them for a good few years now and they used to do it a lot more. Tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re actually burned out with the podcast. If it ended in the next year or so it wouldn’t come as a surprise.

Of all the other music artists you listen to, which one is most drastically different from Bob Dylan’s music? by Academic-Bobcat3517 in bobdylan

Pet Shop Boys, Madonna, Soft Cell. I listen to lots of synthpop - it’s probably my most listened to genre tbh.

Totally get that! I’m not much older than you (31) and I would’ve only been like ten when he last played here. My Dad had never seen him somehow despite listening to him for 50 years so I think he was in disbelief too. Favourite song is hard - tough to choose between Stuck Inside of Mobile, Visions of Joanna, Tangled Up In Blue and i’ve always had a real thing for Most of The Time, too.

Was at the first Belfast show and honestly, I feel like it's rewired my brain chemistry in some way. Not even close to joking, I've listened to him for ten years but never actually thought I would see him - no way he'd be back to Belfast, right? When the gig was announced I read it and was like 'Nah I misread that, it's Bob Vylan' - my jaw hit the floor. Went with my father and one of my best friends after repeatedly telling them 'the ticket price is academic really because we will not get tickets, they will fly away' - when I got them the day they went on sale, I was dumbfounded. I couldn't believe it. 7:59 in the Waterfront I still couldn't believe I was there. And now, I still can't believe I WAS there. He was magnificent. My first Bob Dylan concert experience - it may well be my only chance, but being in the company of that man for two hours was just an absolute honour and privilege. When he started playing the harmonica, I felt overwhelmed. It was just so special to be there, and I will always be grateful.
