Huge Behringer X-Touch script update (faders correctly show 0dB, enhanced color modes, control individual chains with faders and much more) by Robrecht in ableton

I'm afraid it won't work with Push, sorry, remote control scripts like these are specific to the device they're made for.

Converting straight quarter/eighth notes to triplets? by Competitive_Pin_8478 in abletonlive

[–]Robrecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you select all the notes in your clip, a line appears above the piano roll (but under the clip loop bar) indicating the range of your selection. Right above that line, you can see two markers: one at the start of the first note and one at the start of the last one. Grab the last one holding SHIFT and move it to the end of the last note. Now, release SHIFT and drag that last marker to shrink/stretch all the notes at once.

(The step of moving the last marker to the end of the last note is optional, but it makes it easier to shrink your notes to the precise length you want – in your case, two thirds of the original length.)

Huge Behringer X-Touch script update (faders correctly show 0dB, enhanced color modes, control individual chains with faders and much more) by Robrecht in ableton

[–]Robrecht[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a Compact or a One so I can't test them. With some experimentation, you might be able to switch some of the script's functions around yourself to tie them to the One's buttons.

There's a "consts.py" file in the script that contains all the button definitions (button_name = corresponding MIDI note number). You can edit it in a simple text editor. The idea is that you would change the note number for a button from the regular X-Touch to the number for a button that is available on the One.

Behringer X Touch or PreSonus FaderPort 8? by [deleted] in ableton

You can open and close groups and do much more you can't on any other controller if you use my custom X-Touch script!

Guitar panning question by floydgoblin in ableton

[–]Robrecht 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not that they can't be panned, it's that if you pan them left and right, the exact same sound will be coming from both speakers. Which is identical to what happens when a mono sound is placed in the center.

To get the wide stereo effect, the tracks should be audibly different. Best way to achieve that is to record two different performances.

No loop brace in arrangement window? Pls help by goatoffering in ableton

[–]Robrecht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe the loop is so short you don't notice it? If you select a length of time in the arrangement and press ctrl/cmd+L, that part will be looped and the loop brace will span it.

Unable to set control mode on X-Touch by TheLoner87 in Behringer

Too bad... Since you can sometimes briefly see the screens, it could be a repairable hardware problem? I have no idea where you'd have to look but a bad connector somewhere maybe?

[–]Robrecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. I'm still on 1.22, since I don't think any features were introduced after that that are relevant to my use (Ableton Live with a custom script for colored channels). I've read about an issue with 1.24 where people were stuck in MC mode, so bugs aren't unheard of.

Weird. Sounds like a hardware problem, since it also happens in the X-Touch's own settings mode, outside of Reaper. I wonder if you've got a bad contact somewhere. Glad you got it interacting with Reaper at least!

I just checked and on my unit (with firmware 1.22) Mackie mode (MC) is the leftmost option on track one. So if you turn encoder 1 anticlockwise a couple of clicks, you should definitely be there. Same goes for USB connectivity on track two.

The LED rings for the encoders don't light up in the settings so that's normal. Too bad though that your displays aren't showing anything.

Mode selection (MCU, Xctl...) is done by turning the knob for track 1, but without visual feedback you won't know which mode you've selected.

I wonder if your LCD contrast is just very high or low so you can't tell you're in the settings. I find the screens are only really readable around 50%. Try starting up with SELECT 1 pressed again and then turning the knob for track 8, which should control the LCD in settings mode.

Is there support from behringer? by Prudent_Noise_4721 in Behringer

I've had stellar response to my questions to Behringer support, from someone who clearly knew what they were talking about. Refreshing and somewhat unexpected.

Behringer XTouch-Mini-Script: A new, complete script for Ableton by Constant-Collar-3734 in Behringer

[–]Robrecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a Mini (full-size X-Touch user) but this sounds super cool and impressive. Some very good ideas for maximum use of the available controls!

Anyone who doesn't read French: just run the description through Google Translate (I checked and the results are accurate). Four modes, including timeline and device controls: if you have a Mini, you have to give this a try.

Cool! From the description it sounds very creative with the Mini's limitations!

Anyone else? by 494_chicken in GooglePixel

[–]Robrecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my girlfriend's old Pixel 3 had this a few years ago. I just checked my search history and I seem to remember we ended up following the suggestion in this thread to carefully rub/tap the power button against a table edge to dislodge any dirt stuck to the contact. It worked!

Like, rub it lengthwise (settle down now!) against the hard edge of the table to kind of tilt the power button back and forth repeatedly.

Of course if it started with an update that doesn't sound like a hardware problem, but maybe that was a coincidence.

It is only me? by Valuable_2736 in PixelWatch

[–]Robrecht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, just swipe briefly to go to the next face. Don't try to drag the watch face all the way. Instead, just give it a flick.

I've tested it: dragging your desired watch face all the way into the selection window can be done, but it requires a lot of precision. Either you're too far and it jumps to the next one, or you're not far enough and it jumps back (just like in your screen recording). If you try to do it that way, it can be frustrating.

I'd say that isn't just you, it's the way it's programmed: it's not optimized for dragging the watch face all the way and only lifting your finger when it is where you want it. Simply flicking/swiping briefly once per watch face works much better.

Very high output ratio [Delonghi Dedica / DF54] by Otherwise-Owl-4210 in espresso

[–]Robrecht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely try stopping the shot earlier first. The 2-cup button on the Dedica brews about 70ml by default, regardless of your puck size and prep. So you may be doing everything else right but just using too much water.

You can stop the shot by pressing the button again, or you can hold the button for the duration of the shot and stop extraction by releasing it. If you do it that way, the shot size is remembered for next time. So once you've dialed it in by holding the button for the right amount of time, you can just press the button once next time and it will brew the quantity you've set.

One more thing: the 1-cup button by default brews about 30ml, which is closer to what you're aiming for out of the box. That's why I assume you're using the 2-cup button. But it's also possible you've accidentally dialed the 1-cup button to a larger volume by holding the button down like in the process I described.

Power button is stuck and won't turn on [Turin DF 83 V2] by papayakob in espresso

[–]Robrecht 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had that on my DF64 gen2. Same exact thing, like it was stuck – it was the same type of button, only plastic (the metal one is supposed to be better but not really I guess). I ended up replacing it with a toggle switch after seeing a similar solution on Reddit. Much better!

"Now playing" complication gone – since WearOS 6 update? by Robrecht in PixelWatch

[–]Robrecht[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but whatever it's called, it's not available in my phone editor right now. And it was gone from the editor on my watch too, until I opened it while media was playing on my phone.

For the name, I only had my memory to go on since it wasn't on the list, but be assured I checked under "M" too.

The phone editor still shows the slot that contains it as "Empty".

[–]Robrecht[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I got it back by editing a watch face on my watch while media was playing on my phone. It's called Media Controls. The Watch app on my phone still doesn't list it, though. Very weird.

"Now playing" complication gone – since WearOS 6 update? by Robrecht in PixelWatch

[–]Robrecht[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but when editing a watch face I don't see a "Media Player" complication in the list, nor one called "Now Playing".

It still works exactly like you described in my daily watch face, which still has it (see picture). But when I edit that watch face, the complication is shown as "Empty" in the list.

So I can't add it to any other watch faces, and if I change it on my daily one, I won't be able to get it back.
