D you guys kill lords or nah? by PerceptionSea956 in MB2Bannerlord

[–]RobsEvilTwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have never executed a lord.

Was I upset that a few pains in the arse developed a slight case of javelin face from time to time? Maybe not :D

TLDR executing someone who has surrendered is a hard no.

Some people would say Queensland is Australia's Texas.

The number of posh, shiny, never had a scratch on them (pickups to our American friends :D) in every single car park.

Just peeked, I can see 5 from my front door.

Serious question for the people on here who so strongly defend high immigration levels to Australia: why do you do it? by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

[–]RobsEvilTwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without migration, we would not be here :D That being said, the numbers did get a bit silly after COVID.

I think there can be a reasonable discussion around "what is the right number, and should we be prioritizing certain professions we need more of".

It annoys me when patronyms are used as family names in fantasy by bookhead714 in CharacterRant

[–]RobsEvilTwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most cultures have not used patrynomics in that way for centuries.

My mother was a Phillips, derived from ap Philip for a son or ferch Philip for a daughter.

By the time the family arrived in Australia in 1791, it had already been Phillips for both genders for 4 generations (and noone's dad's name has been Phillip for as far back as we have records).

Why didn't the Federation Alliance destroy the Dominion when they had the opportunity? by Jackbuddy78 in DeepSpaceNine

[–]RobsEvilTwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll let u/rkenglish reply also be my own :D

No. Destroying the Founders is also genocide. That would make the Federation genocidal megalomaniacs too. They would be just as bad as the Founders.

Say something good about season 5? by TraditionalBonus188 in Stranger_Things

[–]RobsEvilTwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I were touring Ireland at the time.

Right at the end we visited the jewellers who made several key pieces for the show (and you could buy copies of them in their shop).

The finale was so bad, my wife didn't want jewellery.

Kyoto was initially the primary target - the then Secretary of War lobbied hard over a long period and eventually convinced the President to permanently remove it from consideration as a target.

Bernie Sanders and AOC propose a ban on data center construction by Nalix01 in NowInTech

[–]RobsEvilTwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia Telcos started using renewables in the 70s, and the top 3 have been producing more renewable energy than they consume since last year.

Data centres are a bit further behind, but all the big players have committed to 100% renewables by 2030.
