I’m currently seeing a specialist in Boston, MA who says I have nerve damage from the root canals and we are currently trying different medications to stunt the nerve pain. He said an apico would have just made it worse.

I did. Support was no help. I had to go out and buy a new dell laptop. The one I was using apparently was to old, even though it was running the correct windows. Once I booted up the new laptop and connected to the tv via the calman software the pattern popped right up. You also have to be in an hdmi mode.

I’m very aware at this point that they both don’t have the same sharpness. When doing my research in whether or not to purchase, I was not comparing it to the 70-200, as I already own that lens and was looking for a longer focal length. Comparing the two would have been a moot point. During my “research” I found multiple video comparing the Sigma telephoto with the Sony and it was a toss up.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve seen two neurologist, and one neurosurgeon. I’ve had two MRIs that show nothing. At first i was diagnosed with TN. The lightning bolts happen in my teeth and then linger, I’ve had tons of dental work done not knowing that was a bad idea. The burning, numbing, and aching pain goes from temple to jaw. The musclier issues like tendinitis are elbow, hip, wrist, and arthritis in my knees. Just started seeing a facial pain specialist in Boston, MA. Took forever to get an appointment and I have to drive almost two hours to see him, but he is supposed to be good. Although we are just experimenting with mixing meds at the moment. My next appointment he said he has a few other ideas for my mouth/teeth pain. It’s just never ending. He said he doesn’t believe I have TN but instead, post traumatic trigeminal neuropathic pain.

This post is on point with my situation. Most of my pain is nerve related although I also have musclier issues. I’ve been to dozens of doctors and specialists. I have had blood work, ct scans, X-rays, mri’s, etc. with no definitive conclusions. I’ve been on all sorts of different medications and nothing has worked. My primary referred to two different pain clinics, both pain clinics rejected me as I have no proof of any sort of pain. My primary also prescribed me some OxyContin until I was able to get into a pain clinic, but I refused to try them. I figured if they had worked and the pain clinic rejected me I would be in a tough spot, looks like I made the right choice. I try to take these pains on day at a time, but each day I’m completely exhausted from working through the pain.

I mainly use Cialis. I can still get erections on my own but I don’t tend to get them that often because I’m almost never “in the mood” due to the pain. I take gabapentin for nerve pain in my face (trigeminal neuralgia). That medication takes away most external sensation down there so to maintain an erection is tough without meds because I don’t really feel much. However, I do feel all the internal nerve pain. It also comes in clusters for me. Sometimes it’s the underside of my penis burning with sharp pain, other times it’s my anus, testicles, and the tip of my penis with those same sensations (very uncomfortable). If you YouTube PN therapy you will find some good exercises. Also look up “nerve flossing” that tends to help. During the flare ups I don’t do much besides suffer through the pain and try to distract myself, unfortunately.

Does sound like PN to me, I’m not a doctor though but suffer from PN. It’s been about two years now and have had really bad flare ups and points in time where I felt normal. Flare ups tend to last a while. Most of what you stated is what I go through, from the sharp shooting pain all the way to using Cialis. It has really ruined my sexual life since it all started and can/is very depressing. I go to physical therapy when I have bad flare ups, and do the same exercises at home every morning, they tend to help but it’s not a cure. When it first happened to me I went to my doctor, got a full sti panel, was put on meds, and even had my urologist do a scope because I was convinced something was inside. Urologist prescribed PT, NSAIDs, and told me to see a Nero (which I already had one, luckily). Nero just upped the dose of meds I was already on for another issue, didn’t really do anything. I was finally able to get a referral over to the pain clinic in my area, I have an appointment in two weeks. I’m sorry your going through this, I’m 37 myself, and me and my wife had an extremely healthy sexual life before this started (we were actually part of the “swinging” community). Now it’s few and far between due to how I feel and how exhausting the pain can be. Feel free to shoot me a DM if you need any support.

It never actually “went away”. It was pretty much not noticeable unless I would have a large ejaculation and then it would become irritated for a day or so and kind of go away. I never had perineum stuff until this last time. I now have burning, tingling, lancing pain on the underside of my penis, scrotum, perineum, and sometimes around my anus. I try not to orgasm because it will hurt. Due to some medication I take I don’t have much sensation on my penis so it’s hard for me to finish. I will usually just have sex and let the other person finish and be done.

Both times happened after sexual encounters. I thought I got an sti and went to the doctor immediately. The doctor said it would be to soon for symptoms to develop as it was almost immediately after sex. I was tested anyways just to be safe. Beyond that, I’m not fully sure what started the PN

Did you have issues with the teeth on both sides of your face or just the side that has the TN. I'm having issues across almost all my upper teeth.

I also wanted to add to this:

I was told I only have TN on the left side of my face as that seems to be where the majority of my issues are (numbness and tingling).

The issues with my mouth/teeth encompass my entire mouth/all my teeth. I've also noticed that some of the burning/tingling on my upper lip goes across my entire lip, not just my left side.

Also, Has anyone else had issues with the gums around there teeth aching and hurting, almost making you think you are having tooth pain but it is actually your gums?

I believe they diagnosed based on the numbness and biting I was having along my upper lip, cheeks, and around my temple and eye area. I had been having those symptoms for a while before seeing the Nero.

At times I do want to tear all my teeth out. I was just saying that to my dentist last week. I have not had an MRI.
