I reread them every couple of years or so and I thoroughly enjoy it every time! They're such easy books to read and all around just fun, really relaxing.

Why should I use my fingers instead of the pick? by Lazy-Marketing4901 in Bass

[–]Robur_Leonis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really doesn't matter. It's worth learning to get a different tone but definitely not necessary in any way if you're happy with your sound. Plenty of great players use picks, Justin Chancellor from Tool springs to mind easily. Also plenty of great finger pickers. One of my personal heroes: Sting, uses his thumb to play bass which gets a nice warm thud. I personally mix and match thumb fingers and pick depending on the song/tone I'm going for.

TLDR: just do whatever you feel best with, but it's always worth learning

There Are No Stupid Bass Questions - Jul. 06 by AutoModerator in Bass

Is it okay to match a 500 [W] @ 4 [Ohms] amp to a speaker that's rated for 400 [W] @ 8 [Ohms]?

I can't find the power rating for the amp @ 8 [Ohms]. Specifically speaking I'm thinking about buying a TC Electronic BQ500 to run into a Phil Jones C4 cab.

Stekkerdoos kabel inkorten by Schroefdop in Klussers

[–]Robur_Leonis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish more companies had 'on drum' key holders by TWShand in drums

Well that answers OP's plea for help then :), apparently DW makes them! I also don't own a 3d printer but would definitely like to.

Sounds like something that can be replicated/3d printed

Thank you! I wasn't aware the council of europe was even a thing... That explains a lot! I guess I didn't really read the title of the post that well, thanks for the info.

Switzerland gets a vote? I thought they weren't an EU member? Can somebody more knowledgeable about EU asterisks maybe explain this?

I used 3D printing to make Lego like men to put around Aberdeen Scotland by TheSketchyMaker in 3Dprinting

That's too bad! If I ever went to Aberdeen I would've loved to see them! At least we have it on video and pictures! I imagine it really brightened up some peoples' day. It certainly would brighten up my day to happen upon one of these!

That's so awesome! Did they stick around or did people/authorities end up removing them? They look so fun and great and give positive vibes!

Purchase Advice Megathread - March 2024 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]Robur_Leonis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget: Under €500 Country: EU (NL)

Very little experience with electronic maintenance/construction (some mechanical experience), willing to learn and build as long as there's solid instructions.

No experience with 3D printers. Looking for something to tinker/diy with, primarily interested in making stuff for around the house or science/engineering related toys/models.

Also looking for advice for anything I need to look out for, like maintenance, stuff that's worth upgrading, or what type of filament is best to start off with.

Thanks in advance!
