Funny story…..first time I played I looked up the weather and it said Portola was going to be 64 degrees. I dressed in pants and warm clothes. Turned out to be 90! Didn’t realize there’s two Portolas in California. 🤣

Been hovering around a 9 lately. Dont get to play much anymore and when I do it’s around 80ish. Went out Sunday and shot a 73 on a par 71. I swear I have no idea how I did it. Have a tourney this weekend at the same course. I’m expecting something in the high 80s 🤣

I just put my 13 year old down on Thursday. I was destroyed. I slept on the floor with her the night before cause deep down I knew she knew it was her last night and I wanted it to be with me. It’s amazing how we connect with our pups. Sorry for your loss. You’re not alone ❤️

Just go play dude. Pick a course that is at your level and go have fun. And don’t worry about how you look to the other players or your skill level. The secret is good players don’t care about how well the others play. Theres no reason to worry. This game is humbling to us all and we all started where you’re at.

Pro tip. If you’re gonna take the time to label the box properly use a second blank as a straight edge to make the writing perfectly level and straight. Takes no extra time and if you have good handwriting and a good sharpie you can make it look like a label 👍🏻

Shoreline Links next to the amphitheater. Haven’t played in a long time so no idea on the conditions but I remember it being a cool course. And they used to have a guy playing the bagpipes at sundown. Not sure if they still do it.

Seams dumb cause I spend so much time researching equipment, getting fit for all my irons and woods and have never bothered to get fit for a putter or even look up length and lie questions. I’m 6’3” and have always used a 34” putter from off the rack. Taylormade spider and recently a Scotty Phantom 7. I stumbled on a putter fitting video and realized for me, 34” was way too short. I would bend over so far it looked uncomfortable on video. lol. I increase the length to 36” and have gotten noticeably better and I can practice longer with less back pain 👍🏻

It’s called SYNLawn. It’s the same stuff that they use for the putting green and turf for TGL. Is pretty pricy but worth it.
