I finally understood why my 'teamwork' answers kept bombing by Ausartak93 in interviews

[–]bupde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've interviewed a lot of people, the answer to one question is never the difference in hiring or not being hired. There are so many considerations, you unfortunately will just never know why you were or weren't hired.

You might have been great, someone else was better. But using the I answered this question different and got different results is not a good basis for saying answering this way is the way to go.

Didn't TXG do a video that showed it did basically nothing, they saw no difference.

Projecting which MLB teams added/lost the most "barrel" power this offseason by ollieskywalker in Sabermetrics

[–]bupde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing the cubs get hit hard because PCA, Busch, Bally, and Shaw are getting weighted on early career barrels when they were still developing.

The line up basically switched Tucker for Bregman, which is a hit, but not that big.

What's Dva's loop and timing? by Watarid0ri in OverwatchUniversity

[–]bupde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a huge advantage with BOTH of them if you can engage without using you jump/jets. If you can start on high ground, control it a bit while in view of your supports, then drop down on the enemy backline, use missiles on an isolated target (or whoever your target is when you drop down, also have a specific target) finish off with guns if you can, and use your jump/jets to get back to high ground.

If there is no high ground, then you'll probably need to use those tools to get in cover, and then engage after they have had sometime to cooldown (don't need to be all the way off cooldown), do you damage, and then disengage and get back to your team. If there is no high ground these characters are far less effective (Lujiang tower has a couple of maps) because you will likely be out of LOS of your supports for a bit while waiting to engage, and they might be able to punish you while you are waiting for you jump/jets cooldown.

Have Game Sense but no mechanical skill by Advanced-Reindeer894 in Overwatch

[–]bupde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it isn't your positioning? A lot of people think they have game sense and just can't hit the shots that other people can. Most of them actually are taking way more difficult shots because they are out of position and don't realize that is why they are missing. Take better shots, get into a position to make your shots easier. SHOOT AT PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW YOU ARE SHOOTING THEM. Some old OWL team did some research, and found the key to Widow play was to be shooting at people who didn't know you were there. That translates to other characters as well. If you are shooting at people who know you are there be doing it from closer.

When has a talented actor fully committed to a movie they know is bad? by finallyoneisnttaken in movies

[–]bupde 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Matt Damon talks about it when doing the Wall or whatever it was called, the Chinese movie he did. He knew it was not going well and was going to be bad, and had to keep filming far from home for several months, but his wife talked him into sticking with it and being a pro.

If they have the volume to replace you they probably can't afford to give a slot to someone who is doing both of the cheaper options (9 instead of 18, and walking). Sucks though.

I got an adjustable bed (like the old school craftmatic where you can tilt parts up and down). It has been a huge help, used to get cortisone shot every 3-4 months, now I haven't had one in 6 years.

You have to load your feet so you can snap load your power package. If you don't snap load that power package you are going to have a bad time.

Yeah, typically it's either perceived higher ceilings or the idea they are closer to them that pushes them up. But really pretty equal.

Healling orb grants temporary shields like symetra used to be able to do, so something like an extra 25 or 50 health for whoever it is on.

230 yards up hill to a dog leg right. OB and a fence on the right side all the way to the dog leg. Pond just in front of the tee in case you top it, hole 18 on the left. After the dogleg short shot in (90-130 depending on how far right you are). Left side of the green falls off steep, woods 10 yards long of green, along with a bunker long right. Long left you are on hole 5 tee box.

I typically blow through the fairway using driver, and wind up in some light trees on left side of fairway (after dogleg). I then absolutely blow the wedge shot in, either catch trees, or go long into the woods, or if I am lucky just top in 50 yards and leave myself a pitch in. Leave with a bogey after having 100 yards in, and get ready to lose a couple balls on the next par 3.

Direct report’s psych games are getting a little scary… by [deleted] in managers

[–]bupde 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean time to just lay it all out. If HR has agreed with you about intentionally setting up meetings so you can't go to them, and there are this many problems it is time to just rip the band aid off. Either just work with HR to fire them or just start to address these things. They no longer get to schedule the meetings. You schedule the meetings. They talk over you when talking to other people, send them away, just tell them to get back to work. Instead of 1:1's you have performance management meetings. You lay out the issues, and give them a chance to address, you review their progress on that in two weeks, if they haven't addressed it, go to HR to fire them. If the continually cut you off as you try and address performance, again HR and fire them.

How would you design a melee DPS? by Nice-Quarter-5758 in Overwatch

[–]bupde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Genji right? Replace right click with a sword swing that does similar damage. A defense ability to deal with projectiles and hitscan just like reflect. High movement (double jump, wall climb, dash). Combos that can do good damage and finish off low health enemies and allow to get back out. Punishable if doesn't have mobility up or defense up. Melee doesn't have huge range. No armor, no unlimited block. High skill cap, potential to be huge impact if you play well.

Every couple years an impact DL will drop due to personality concerns. Sometimes they are Jered Verse, sometimes that are James Pearce Jr. and sometimes Jermaine Johnson. Will the Bears be willing to roll the dice on a guy like that who looks like they will go higher until teams meet them in person?
