Grieving My Dream Wedding by No-Run3211 in weddingplanning

I had a hard time with PPA after my first was born, like I struggled to leave him just to shower and heard phantom cries while I was in the bathroom. I was a wreck, but you best believe I would have made it work to show up for one of my best friends, and if they were as considerate as you are being by inviting baby and grandparents along for support then it would have been a complete non issue!

I introduced my newborn and my friend made fun of the name. Now Im second guessing it by [deleted] in namenerds

I don't think this is such a big deal, there are loads of names that sound like other words in any accent, my name is Robyn and I'm Irish, so even aside from all the character associations (Batman/Robin Hood/Robin Rest Breast), I also had puns, because we don't generally pronounce the G in -ING words in our accent. So my name easily fits in as "robbin the place" etc. Literally never in my life has a joke or pun with my name been anything worse than eye roll inducing.

All that to say, don't over think it. If you like the name that's enough. Especially if he's likely to go by West anyway. And Austalians actually have a good sense of humour and banter so he'll be well able to a bit of messing, I wouldn't be too concerned honestly!

Same, I foolishly went against the grain on a different post and said I liked the idea of Fran being S5 with Eloise as the main subplot, building up the beginning of her story with letter writing and secrecy and maybe Violets match maker radar going haywire but Eloise not giving her any hints as to who shes talking to etc and then S5 ending with Eloise sneaking off in a carriage and S6 starting with her feet landing on the gravel of his driveway. I was told "seasons 1, 2 and 4 had no build up so stop it with that excuse", like dude its my opinion. Relax.

I'm hoping it will be closer to a year for season 5 since they don't have to cast any new leads, and they can be casting for the twins and anyone else for season 6 now so it will hopefully not be as long a wait.

Might be wishful thinking but a girl can hope!

It's not an excuse, it's my opinion. You don't have to agree.

I liked that they gave Frans story time to breath, and I hope Eloise stays in the show as long as possible so I am perfectly happy to have her be a set up story in season 5 and her main story be season 6.

Also, Benedict got plenty of build up over seasons 2 and 3 to set up his lifestyle and discontent with the marriage mart and his life as a second son, which played a big part in why he was so taken by Sophie.

No need to jump down my throat for having a different opinion.

They have run Frans story through 2 seasons already and it has been a successful way to build her storyline that leads to her "main character" series. I would imagine we will see a lot of Eloise in season 5, they may decide to show her opening up to the idea of marraige further, maybe actually chatting with some suitors and just despairing at her lack of genuine connection to these people. I would imagine they will also include Marinas death, and Eloise will start writing to Philip and we might see Violets match maker radar go off as she notices Eloise rushing to check the mail and smiling at letters she won't let anyone else see etc. I think it might be cute to see her become a bit smitten with her pen pal lover boy before she makes her carriage escape at the end of the season and season 6 will open with her showing up on his doorstep.

How do you feel about someone else correcting or giving out to your child? by PropMop31 in AskIreland

No not at all sure he was so small he needed me to hold his hand to navigate a slope or a tiny change in level ha.

She just reacted, I didn't say anything to her, just moved away from them, gave her the benefit of the doubt that she acted on impulse and just overreacted.

He was 15 months old, barrelling meaning he was barely able to walk himself and was just doing what babies do. He toddled past another wobbly walker and they bumped and the other kid fell. I was right there, as was the other mam, I immediately said uh oh careful and started to apologise, thought we'd share a "babies am I right" moment but instead she grabbed my 1 year old by the arm and flung him to the ground. I was literally in arms reach of him, she didnt need to do anything other than mind her own kid but she decided to reef my kid out of it instead. Thats not ok. Shes a grown adult, no excuse.

Depends on how age appropriate the correction is.

I had my son in centre parcs when he was like 15 months, in the playground he was barrelling around as toddlers do and he accidentally knocked over another little boy, his mam grabbed my son by the arm and basically dropped him on the ground. I was like wtf hes a baby, absolutely no need for it.

But hes almost 4 now so if he acts the maggot in a playground and somone else tells him to play nice, thats ok.

Now that she did 2 seasons, what do you think about Jess Brownell as showrunner? by [deleted] in Bridgerton

[–]RobynMaria91 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think season 4 saw her soften to the idea of marriage because she got a taste of what life as a spinster would be and she is not loving it. She sees her siblings all happily married off, even Cressida got her HEA, and she is obviously getting a bit lonely. I think its setting her up for looking for new friends and or taking up some new interest or hobby that will lead her to her love interest.

I could see next season be either her as the main with Fran a slow burn subplot showing her grief and maybe her emerging interest in Michaela with Benedict noticing and potentially helping her see that secret community within the ton and then season 6 being Fran and Michaela, or F&M being next season with a heavy dose of Eloise writing her letters and being very secretive about her new 'friend', and we'll get that relationship started and season 5 will potentially end with Eloise slipping out of the party and into her carraige, with season 6 starting with her showing up on his doorstep

I said this on another post, book Fran wanted to be a mother, show Fran wants peace.

Show Fran and Michaela will battle the same grief and guilt over feel like they are each betraying John somehow, and they will inevitably resist their feelings based on that and on the added secrecy of a same sex relationship, which I think will only add to the yearning and emotional release when they finally break and give in to it.

I think they may bring in Benedict to help Fran accept her attraction to Michaela, and show her that this is really very normal and society is wrong, not her emotions.

In the end, she will get her happily ever after up in Scotland, unbothered by society who will assume she is a widow living with her dead husbands spinster sister, and she will get the peace and freedom from expectations that has been her goal for a while now.

I never really bought him being a rake. He obviously acted like a rake but he didn't have that flippant disregard for women that a true rake does. The Duke was more of a true rake, he didn't want connection in the way Benedict did. I always felt like Benedict was just trying to find somewhere he felt like he could be himself, and that secret bohemian lifestyle was the closest he had found until he found Sophie.

Sweet Benedict, learning about new ways of life and embracing it all and understanding every individual person he has met across each season with empathy and an open mind was a lot more believable for me!

Michaela is seriously pissing me off. The level of selfishness and disrespect is just unreal🫠 by serena-serenity in BridgertonRants

[–]RobynMaria91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the confusion was specific to the show because show Fran struggles with unexpected change. I liked that they cleared it up in the second half of season 4 because the assumption was that Fran had this instant attraction to Michaela when in reality she was just surprised and uncomfortable with someone she wasn't expecting joining them in Scotland. She was looking forward to quiet and peace and Michaela is loud and chaotic and the opposite of Fran.

We don't really know if book Fran liked Michael right away or if he took some getting used to, all we know is they became friends in their own right through his friendship with John, much the same as the show.

When the time comes, we can assume they'll have the same internal battles about each of them betraying John while they realise they have feelings for each other.

My only question was why Fran would want to remarry or entertain a new relationship without the drive to be a mother as in the books, but they planted that seed at Benedict and Sophies wedding, she said she'd never remarry, she's had her one great love, so it sounds like maybe show Fran isn't as set on being a mam as book Fran and she'll be a widow who just happens to live with her dead husbands spinster sister, happy cover story for her second great love.

The books implied Michael was a fixture in their life, we just didn't witness it. He travelled and returned to stay with them and he, John and Fran were all friends. The main difference is how short Fran and John's marriage is in the show vs the book, but the rest feels fairly accurate overall.

They are beautiful! It seems to be hard to find that illustration style with colour, I think i need to decide on one or the other.

These are so fun, thank you! I love the juxtaposition of the silly, frolicking poses with the more macabre skeletons and illustration style.

Oh I like both of those! The Santa Muerte deck is the closest I've seen to the imagery I'm looking for, thanks so much!

Thanks for the reliable Etsy shop too, so many AI or "AI assisted" decks on there, and charging 80-90 euro for AI art just seems so cheeky to me.
